Books for the first week of school
I changed grades this year. 2nd to 5th. I am looking for some good books to read to the class for classroom procedures, rules, etc...
What I used for my 2nd graders is way to babyish for 5th grade.

to be honest some kids enjoy baby books im a 6th grade teacher and i start with alex no good very bad day to have studnets understand people have bad days they think its fun to read a baby book and it relaxes them not rushing them into adolescent work as fast...

It's a REALLY cute book about this person who does NOT want to go to school and is clearly very nervous about the first day......... and then at the end of the book you find out that person is a TEACHER!!!  My kids loved it last year!

It's a REALLY cute book about this person who does NOT want to go to school and is clearly very nervous about the first day......... and then at the end of the book you find out that person is a TEACHER!!! My kids loved it last year!

My best friend is a third grade teacher and reads this to her class ont he first day every year! She said she always gets such a great reaction from the students. I am a SAHM now but will go back to teaching when my DD is a little older, and I will definitely be using this book!

 It really is great, and I used it last year for 6th graders!!  It's one of those books all kids could get a kick out of... and the teacher in that book describes me perfectly on the first day!!
