HOW do you do that?
So now he is back to square one and he had a job to do today with his regular job that he turned down because he didn't have time because of this parttime job.
WHY can't we get a break???!!!

I am seeing this happen with a lot of the aides that work for my agency and I really feel for them. They already don't make a lot of $$$$ and a client will call and cancel at the last minute.Chat Icon Many times after they've travelled from Brooklyn or Queens to Long Island to service them. Then the client gets mad when we are not able to staff their case.

It's even worse that the employer made this error in your situation.

It's just so frustrating. He hasn't worked a real fulltime job since May 2008. He has a job now but he has worked there for almost a year and was promised 50-60 hrs. a week in the summer and has worked only 2 40 hr. weeks. He only worked 7 hours this week (actually only 5 as he is getting paid for 2 of them when he didn't actually go to work). Chat Icon

You mentioned another post that he was lookig for retail work, right? Has he tried Home Depot? I once heard guys working in Target talking about how Home Depot paid better--I don't know how much or if they are hiring, , but I have heard it is a decent place to work.

Does your DH have any retail experience? If so, I know of holiday work available but he must be available to work nights and weekends.

No, not really. The job he just got and lost without working-ugghh...was in retail and they were going to give him a change.
He is really looking for nights so he can keep the morning job and be with the kids afterschool.
