when should i call the doctor....AF is 2 weeks late and BFN

I just came off BC after 8 years and my period is over 2 weeks late and ive tested a couple times and all BFN. So I have come to the conclusion that it is just my body adjusting to being off the pills.

So at what point should I call my doctor to see if everything is ok? I dont even feel like im going to be getting my period anytime soon. Ive seen on here some girls go 50 days w/o AF after coming off the pill.....should i just wait that long and then call?

Ugh, I wish i came off the pill a long time ago :(

Having been one of the girls that had a 51 day cycle post-BC, I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. It can take a while for body to adjust to being off BCP. I know it's frustrating. I was feeling like something was wrong that first long cycle.
I was never so excited to see AF when she finally arrived.

Like pp said, you can call to put your mind at ease, but i have a feeling that he/she will tell you that it's pretty typical to be late post-BCP.

I agree. I would give it some more time. This was my 3rd cycle of BCP and the first two were 30 and 32 days. This one was 42 and I felt the same way you did - something might be wrong, how long should I wait to call the doc, I feel nothing, etc. Then bam, AF came. Hang in there!Chat Icon

I agree word for word.

My first cycle after stopping BCP was 57 days. I did call the dr. at about CD 45 and he told me what I'm sure your dr. will tell you...that it's typical and you should regulate in a few cycles. If it will put your mind at ease, definitely call your doctor, but I truly think you're ok! Chat Icon

PS...I cannot tell you how much I wish I stopped BCP earlier too. Chat Icon
