overcooked pot roast
so i overcooked a huge pot roast yesterday.
what else can i do with all of the potatoes, veggies and gravy that's still good (well, slightly undercooked, but the microwave can fix that).
i guess i'm just looking for some meat i can cook to go with the gravy... still new at this :(

Re: overcooked pot roast
Whenever I over cooke meat I cut it up in small pieces and make a stew or like pepper steak inthe gravy...it usually softens and flavors it up a bit. Why not try that?

Re: overcooked pot roast
All is not lost, you can still use it!! I did this once with a brisket during the holidays. My BF's mother told me to shred the meat, put it in a pot. We made a BBQ type sauce for it and heated the meat in that. It was so good that DH wants me to make it this way. I will get the recipe if you want it.

Re: overcooked pot roast
I have attempted pot roast several times and couldn't get it, it would always get tough...well tonight I made an awesome tender tasty pot roast, I used chuck roast and a pressure cooker...it was sooo good!
You can just serve the veggies with rice.

Make a beef stew! Cooking meat in lots of liquid will soften it up quite a bit, and you can reuse the veggies too.
