What came first, the baby or the house?

Just want an idea of what other couples are doing. TIA

We bought our house a year before we got engaged. However, it's small-- a 2 bedroom. So our plan is to have one DC in this house and eventually look for something bigger.

umm kind of at the same time LOL

we decided not to wait to TTC even though we are planning to buy my parents home and make it a two family, all while living in my old bedroom! should be fun, i will let you know how it goes

we got married in sept 08 bought a house in aug 09 started trying on our 1 yr anniv

We wanted the house first and then baby. However, we have been trying to sell our Co-op in the city for a while now with no luck.


So now I think we will just hope for a baby first and stay here for that yr...then move to a house in LI. If we can ever sell our place.

We bought our condo six months before we got married... it is a 2-br so there is enough room for one child, but once he/she reaches toddler age, we want to get a house.

Married in March 07, house in June 07, TTC late '09.

My dh would not even consider ttc until after we bought a house.

We got married July 08, bought a house July 09 and will be ttc in March of 10

We bought a house a few months ago but waited to TTC b/c we were renovating

i wanted to wait until we had a house before TTC'ing because our apartment was way too small.

we got married in '05, bought a house in '08 and started TTC'ing in Jan '09
getting married and buying a house was easier than this

Baby will hopefully come first for us. I have no desire to buy a house and think I can love my child just the same in an apartment. Even when we do buy, it will prob be a condo and not a house.

While I would love to have a house..hopefully baby will come way before that.

We are still looking for a house and TTC at the same time...Even though my apt is not that big, I prefer to have the baby while still living there. I would be able to stay home for a few month and we could survive on one salary...Once we get a mortgage theres no way I can take off w/o pay. So we shall see what happens.

we got married and bought a condo around the same time (early last summer) and then even though i was ready to start trying ASAP, we waited about 6 months til my husband felt ready.... STILL ttc now (on my 9th cycle)

even though our condo is only 2br and comfortable for 1 child, i think we will be here for a while even if we have more than 1 child... it would be a little tight, but i remember sharing a room when i was little and i dont think there is anything wrong with it. Even though it would be nice to buy bigger homes as our family grows, i really am more concerned with being able to afford to be home if it is at all possible when our future babies are so little.

Hopefully moving into our new home next month and have been TTCing for 4 months now. I just keep telling myself that the little one-to-be is just holding out from being conceived until we're in the house!

we got married in august 07, started having our house built in november 07. then we moved in in march of 08 when the house was completed. now we just started TTC in September 09.

so for us house then baby.

House in Jan 09, still need to do some renovations, and TTC in Jan 10 (hopefully). I have a 4 bedroom house, but no room for a baby!! 1 bedroom, we knocked down the wall to make the living room bigger, 1 bedroom is the master, 1 is a guest room that I can't give up and then the last is our office. So there might be a baby in the master for some time until we move or expand the house

I bought a condo in 2002, married in 2007 & are TTC.

We decided to put our co-op on the market so we could house hunt. Well the co-op sold (we're closing in a few weeks), but we still haven't found "the house". So we're going to rent for a little while while we continue house hunting. I really wanted to be settled into a house by the time a baby came, but we'll see what happens. At least the co-op is sold so when we do find the house we can move asap.
