28 weeks... still working, and wondering if I should go off the road???
Hello all. I am new to this forum. I am originally from Long Island, but live in Michigan now!!! I am 28 weeks now and still working full time as a Paramedic in Detroit. I am starting to have some concerns about work. Not sure if I should be thinking about taking time of sooner then later? I love my job and I don't want to not work, but Detroit is not the best city to be working in. My partners are awesome, but I still worry. Is anyone else here a medic??? Any advice to give out??? TIA!

Hello!! I am also a Medic. I work on solo busses so we dont have the option of a partner. The cops drive the ambulance. So I have to do the heavy lifting and carry all the eqipment alone. I left the street at 8 weeks pregnant. I was at a scene where I could have been involved in a large fight. I realized that it was not worth it. Plus with all the illness that we are exposed to. On my job I have the option of moving to a radio console for the rest of my pregnancy so that is what I choose to do. It is very borning but safe for me and my baby. Good Luck and Welcome to the boards!!!
