let the #$%^ for the holidays begin

this is the time of year that makes for the most stress in our blended family.

BM is going OOS to visit her inlaws and SD15 is supposed to be with us from wed night to sunday morning. DH & BM spoke at length about this and I'm going into NYC Sunday very early for a conference so I will drive SD to her BBFs house and she'll stay there till her mom gets home in the evening. At one point BM wanted Sd to go with her but SD would miss a day of school and Thanksgiving is the big holiday in our family, we host & have 6 houseguests all weekend. Christmas has become so miserable with DH needing to drive SD home in the middle of the night or very early on Christmas morning 2 hours round trip that we really don't enjoy the holiday and we've almost stopped celebrating it all together. So needless to say we are excited for Thanksgiving and since she's older now its RARE for her to stay at our house 4 nights in a row & DH is really looking forward to spending time with her. Plus we have a million little things to do for her sweet 16 that's in january.
So today SD starts with the bull$hit about needing to go to a party in her moms town(over an hour away) on Friday night, then she claims she has a school project to do on Saturday with her friend. She's blowing up my facebook all day trying to get me on her team. She arranges to stay at her BBFs house from friday night on without asking either of her parents. She knows DH doesnt want her staying at the BFFs overnight while BM is out of town because the last time we allowed that SD pulled a fast one on the BFFs mom & she couldn't find her & we had to go out there and look for her.
So anyway after mountains of attempted manipulation I called BM and asked her if she ok'd this plan and naturally she knew nothing of it & is only worried about going on her trip. She had no info AT ALL for me, knew nothing about the party on friday & nothing about a project thats due monday.
So now SD will be a cranky little brat all weekend because she couldn't get her way.
