I think this is more of me wanting to air this out to someone who understands than asking for advice. Still, that's always appreciated.
I said I didn't want to try this month and possibly for the next few months. I want to lose some weight before trying again since the doctor said losing 10 lbs was my best bet to not have this happen again. DH wanted to try again right away but respected my wishes. We talked about intercourse and decided not to use protection (sorry if TMI) because on the off chance that it might happen and be healthy, I would NEVER want to stop that! I think that's understandable. I know that some women do not have a period the month after but because I miscarried so early (less than 5 wks), I thought I might.
Well, in the past week I've done 3 opk's more to see if I was going to ovulate this month and when than to prepare for BD. Today's came back positive and we BD'd late last night/early am. I put this into my fertility software along with the test result and it came back that it was a "good" chance of conception. I now think it was a bad idea to be taking opk's because in the next few days I'll be questioning whether or not we should BD and stuff.
Thoughts?

Re: dilemna
Since you BD'd last night and this morning and got the + OPK, there is already a good chance you could get pregnant. You might as well BD tonight and tomorrow and see what happens.
I think if you really truly want to take a break from TTC then you shouldnt be using the OPK. Once thats in the mix I dont see how you can not be trying? KWIM? The first 2 cycles after my d&c, we took a "see what happens approach." When nothing happened, we used the OPK and that was the month I got pregnant.
Its tough; you have to try to do the thing that will make you the most happy. I know the disappointment of a BFN is really rough but I also know not trying again right away can be equally as rough.
Hopefully things work out this month and you wont have to worry about it

Thanks. I understand how it could look that I was taking OPK's but I was just trying to see if I was going to ovulate this month, if my dates were going to be different, etc since my dr said that could happen. I didn't want to start trying again in February or so and have no idea if I was on a different schedule. But now that I have it it's like...do I intentionally not BD or do we do it like crazy.
I see where you're coming from though, thanks for the support!

I COMPLETELY understand you using the OPKs; my first cycle post d&c I used them too just to see if I was actually O'ing and if my body was back to normal. I should have thought about that before I answered but I didnt mean to imply that you must obviously be trying if you are using the OPK. I just meant that I know from my personal experience, as soon as I saw that + OPK, it was on!!
I hope I didnt offend you

Never! I'm so hard to offend. It's just, like I said, the dr said it could throw off my period and my cycle and I may not even have one this month so I've been checking to see where I'm at and I'm a little later than usual when I look at last month's but I'm just so relieved to see that I'm still actively ovulating!

Re: dilemna
I agree w/ Lisa...if you used the OPKS and know you are ovulating there is most likely no way you could let the info go and not try the next few days...I know last month even though I wanted to take the "whatever route" I still was able to notice EWCM and knew when AF was due...it's hard not to think about TTC when having a baby is really what you want...
Give yourself a fair chance.. you already started!
PS..what's this software I have been hearing about??

Re: dilemna
Check out tcoyf.com, there's a 15 day free trial but I think I'm hooked. I heard about it from a TTC gal. It's similar to mymonthlycycles.com except you download it to your desktop and it has added features. You log your temps, cm, dates, intercourse, menses, any tests that you take and they have fertility predictors and it will look at the dates you bd and tell you based on that and your symptoms how likely you are to get pg. it also lets you plug in the dates you want to deliver and backs you up using your cycles to tell you when to try, what dates and stuff. i didn't like it at first but after a week now I like it a lot :)
