dog waste removal
just curious ... would you pay for someone (a company) to come and clean up your backyard (poop )
if you do, what do you pay and how often is it done?
TIA

Uhm... no. I could never allow for so much poop to accumulate that I would need a company to come in and clean up...I clean up on daily basis.

ITA
Dangerous to leave it there as poop that sits can grow worms if your dog carries their larva.

We have a small dog, so it's really not an issue.
across the street has 2 huge dogs - they have it done - I might too!

one week is not dangerous. keep in mind, in some places, animals poop and then it snows and it isnt removed for weeks to months! (until the snow is melted)

My parents do, I think it's $10 a week, and they come once a week. To me it's totally worth it!

Personally - I would never. That's the epitome of laziness. I'm not even going to lie - I would totally judge one of my peers if I saw that.
Ask me when I'm in my 70s - I may feel differently.

I feel the same exact way as Jenn627. I considered it once when DH wasn't getting around to it as fast as I like (we have 3 dogs) bu, then I said F that and rode his azz!

Re: dog waste removal
i think it is gross to let poo sit for so long but i can see how someone could need a service like that....especially an elderly person or a new mom who can't leave the baby to pick up poo everytime the dog goes out..we walk our dog and we have no choice but to pick up her poop or else you'll get in trouble
i didn't even know there was such a service! pretty interesting i guess...

if you think THATS lazy -- we have an automatic doggie door for hershey.... he wears a tag on his collar & when he gets within 5 feet of the door, it opens for him.... now THAT is the epitome of laziness
IMO i dont see the difference between paying someone to clean up your dogs poop vs paying someone to mow your lawn.... b/c if thats the case, then anyone who hires someone to mow their lawn is lazy then too

I totally agree. I wish we had an automatic door for our dog so I didn't have to go downstairs to let him out lol

definitely agree. It's the same for when people have a service come to clean their house for them. I don't personally do this, but I probably would if I had kids and worked a full time job. Some people just really don't have the time to do all of that. I don't think anybody should be judged for what they do with their money and time. If somebody wants to pay a company to clean their house, mow their lawn, or scoop their dog's poop - then that's their business. I don't see why anybody else would care.

Re: dog waste removal
If I had a dog, I would totally pay someone $10 a week to pick up the poop. I leave my house at 7am. Get home at 7pm. On the weekend, I sure as hell would not be picking up poop.
We live in a society where people pay companies hundreds or thousands of dollars to hang their Christmas lights. $10 a week to pick up dog poop isn't bad!

I didn't post about landscapers or cleaning people b/c that's not what the OP was about.
You are all absolutely right that people can spend their money however they see fit. I still would judge them. I can't help it.
eta: I just want to reiterate that I would judge my peers - i.e childless with 9 to 5, 9 to 6 jobs. I'm sorry but if they need to pay someone to clean their dog's poop - well then - I'm sorry.

Re: dog waste removal
I have paid a service as we had two large dogs and lived on 2 acres in Smithtown. I have no problem with it. I *think* we paid $30 a month and well worth it.
I also don't concern myself with others and their laziness or what they do in their homes. I have more important things to worry about. My motto is live and let live. I try to surround myself with those that feel the same way.

Re: dog waste removal
Self admitting Lazy A$s B*tch here!!! (I use a service for everything: cleaning service, landscapers, drycleaner, car wash, dog groomer, I even buy a lot of my food pre-made at gourmet stores! )
I had a service come twice a week for my 2 large dogs on an acre of property. I think I was paying $15 a week. I ended up canceling the service b/c she wasn't reliable on the days she was supposed to come, plus I found that because I was out in the backyard daily with my kids, I was pooper-scooping on a daily basis. However, having someone come on a regular basis made it much easier!! (and I didn't have to deal with disposing of it.)
I also found the service especially handy during bad weather (rainy days & colder months.)
Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations for you. I do believe some of my other neighbors use Poop-B-Gone.
