how far before giving birth are you going to stop working?

Im due June 11 and this is my first time PG. I was hoping to make my last day Fri May 28th. that would give me almost 2 weeks before my due date. plus i know tat most likely i will go past my due date.

does that sound okay?

Do you have good maternity leave benefits? I think you should do whatever you're comfortable with.

I'm working until I go into labor, my doctor puts me on bed rest, or I get so uncomfortable that I just can't work because I don't want to use any of my maternity leave until the baby is here unless I absolutely have to.

2 weeks sounds like a good amount of time. My last day of work is 10 days before my due date - my commute to the city is not fun & my job is pretty active.

I think if that is what you are comfortable with, that is a good amount of time.

I plan on working until I go into labor ( as long as I am able to ). I know that once I stop working, time will DRAGGGGGG. Not to mention, each day I am home before the baby is born, is a day I am missing out on AFTER the baby is born!

i'm going to try to go to the very end, so either labor, or forced bed rest. we don't get paid maternity (FMLA) so every day counts and will let me stay at home longer with after birth.

I'm working as long as possible, I have 2 weeks left until my due date, and I pretty much sit at my desk all day. Every day home before she gets here is a day I can't stay home with her after she is born. Plus, everyone at work is freaking out about me being gone, so I need another two weeks to prepare them!

just about 3 weeks prior to my due date...mainly because I am a teacher and the February break starts 3 weeks before. Instead of going back for a day or 2 after the break I'm just going to stop then.

I'm working up until the last minute I can stand to work. Hopefully I won't have any time off before the baby comes.

Last time I was flipping out and stopped working a week before my due date. It worked out fine because I gave birth 4 days early.

I am due the same day as you! My last day will be the 28th also. It is memorial day weekend. I teach in the city so I figured that would work out well and plus I don't want to buy a June LIRR ticket. Also I will be having a repeat c-section so I will probably go before June 11th.

I am a teacher as well (Middle School) and have 20 school days left until my due date. I am hoping to stay until the bitter end. My kids have been really good for me, and since my leave-replacement still isn't found, I am hesitant to go out a few days early

But something is telling me that this kid won't stay in that long as things are definitely changing.

I'm having another scheduled c-section, so I'll probably just take the day or two off beforehand. I took a week off before my first pregnancy and I went stir crazy in the house. I'd rather drag my behind to work everyday than sit in the house going nuts. At that point, though, it's the end of my school year and I don't have much left to do, so it's not so stressful going to work everyday.

I am also a teacher and plan on working as long as I can until my due date. After my due date, if I still haven't gone into labor, I'm stopping anyway. I agree - I want more time with my baby at the end of my FMLA - ALTHOUGH, some alone time before the baby is born would be nice, I'm sure!

I'd rather have the time off when the baby comes so I am working right up until I go into labor.

I'm trying to maximize my paid time off so under our policy, that actually means Friday will be my last day, one week before my due date. Though I must say that in the last few days, my energy levels have dropped exponentially and my discomfort is increasing - frankly, I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through the week (I'm a lawyer at big firm so it's a fairly demanding job with LONG days and a subway commute). That being said, I'm also not looking forward to hanging out at home by myself for a week either - I hope she comes a few days early otherwise I may lose my mind - although maybe I'll just sleep through that week just like this long weekend - who knows.

With DS #1 I worked until I went into labor, however I do work from home so that made it much easier. I'll probably do the same with DS #2. I want to save all of my time off for after the baby comes.

I was induced on a Monday and I worked until the Friday before. I was lucky enough to be allowed to work from home though the last two weeks which made it better.

I have an AWFUL painful commute... so I'm hoping to go out about a month before my due date. I just wont be able to treck the bus and train (subway) while I'm in my 9th months and during the height of summer. it's just TOO much!! It takes over an hour each way.... and it's JAM PACKED and just really really stressful on the norm..... forget about while pregnant.

So I can either go out disability or FMLA (hoping for disability because I get full pay as opposed to FMLA which is nada). Then I have maternity leave which is 8 weeks for after I have the baby.

I have a scheduled c/s on a Monday and will work that Friday before. It works out bc it is the end of the semester as well.

I think I would try to work as long as I could handle it, but I won't really have a choice. I am due July 13, but I am a teacher so I will stop working at the end of June when the school year is over.

Right now I am booked to finish at 37 weeks, but I will probably try to make it to 38 weeks, and see how I feel. I have a long maternity leave, so the extra week won't make a difference.
