So DH just got back from having Lasik...
Anyone here have it? How did you feel after...how long till you were better?

SIL had it done, she said the next day was wierd and she was sensitive to bright light for 3 days I think. She was not allowed to wear makeup for 1 week---does your DH wear makeup??
Make him lie down in a dark room....sleep off the anesthesia and it gives the eyes a chance to rest

He is resting now...just wondering when his eyes would be "normal"

I had it, I remember I was seeing the next day, but I still needed the dark glasses outside. He should be fine tomorrow.

He is still  but should wake up soon. His vision was blurry after the surgery but he really didn't have his eyes open after he left the doctors so I don't know how he is doing.

So DH is having a really difficult time. His eyes are red and burn at times and he is having difficulty opening his eyes....almost looks like pink eye. Does anyone know if this is normal?
He is going to the doctor today but just wondering if anyone on here has any feedback. Thanks.

Maureen, how is your husband feeling?
I had PRK laser surgery at the same place (not Lasik, I wasn't a candidate). Which doctor did your husband's surgery?
My sister has Lasik done at the same place too and she did really well. She was uncomfortable for about 2 days but improved very quickly.
Is he feeling better?

Not that much better...pretty much the same
His eyelids are swollen and his eyes are red and gunky when he opens them, which is rare. He has me freaked out, but we went to the doctor today and he said it's normal...in the low % of normal but still nothing to be too crazed about.
We go back to the doctor tomorrow...hopefully he will be able to open his eyes more. He is able to see things and even read the whole eye chart today...a miracle seeing as he barely saw the E before.
How was your recovery?

My friend had it done and I remember her telling me that it feels like she had something in her eyes (like getting an eyelash in your eye feeling) constantly. In a few days she was better.
I hope you DH feels better soon.

Yes - for the first day my eyes were terrible, so uncomfortable but I slept a lot, they felt very grainy. The second day was a little better, but I could definelty see, the grainy feeling goes away in a few days.
I hope he's feeling better!

I hope he's feeling better today!!! I had mine done about 8 years ago so I don't remember that much, but I don't think I had it that bad. I think maybe for a couple of days my eyes felt a little grainy - and I remember a couple of hours after the surgery, my eyes stung sooo bad and I could not handle ANY light. I had to sit on my way home in the car with a shirt covering my eyes and my eyes closed b/c it hurt so much. but that only lasted for a little while. And since I couldn't see the "E" on th chart before either, it was SOOOO worth it.
