What day of the week do you think most new homes come on MLS?

Just wondering if anyone knows, or has seen a trend.

when I was looking I saw them come on any day of the week but maybe more towards the weekend since most people look on the weekends

Activity is definitely starting to pick up now.

I live in a VERY small zip code where I wouldn't see a house for sale pop up for about 6 weeks straight. In the last three weeks i've seen two new listings.

when I was an agent, we had our sales meetings on Fridays- so I know in our office, we always tried to post everything before that 10am meeting on Fridays.. and I worked for a company that employs about 3000 agents on LI

Most agents will try and get them up there before the weekend- thats the peak time, so check wednesdays-fridays

I am a Realtor and have to say that there really is no certain day that more houses come on, but there are certain months that are stronger than others.

If you are thinking of looking for a home, be aware that the tax credit will be running out shortly and it does not look like it will be extended again. Also FHA just changed their guidelines for mortgages which will go into effect in another month or so (no start date was stated as of yet) and lastly it is speculated that the interest rates will be going up in March/April, which will make your mortgage payment go up substantially. We Realtors are telling this information to all the potential sellers we are in front so that they list their homes NOW instead of later. We are trying to get as many homes on the market so that all of the First Time Homebuyers have as many choices as possible before the cut off date of April 30th (the date you must be in contract by). I think you will see many houses coming on in the next 2 months.

its really starting to pick up. I have a listing book account that emails me new houses that fit the criteria we are looking for, and in nov/early dec it was so slow maybe 2 houses were listed, sometimes 0. (we have 22 towns selected!!) in just the past 2 weeks I have to say on average its 5 or 6 houses everyday!

you can sign up for the same thing on MLS where it emails you everytime a house is listed in a town that fits your critera, that way you keep up with the new listings

Things are really starting to pick up.

We actually should be going to contract on a place by the latest Monday and sometimes I think, maybe if we waited on this particular one we'd see something come on the market in the Spring that we liked even more? But, you can't play that game! It'll drive you nuts and since I really do love the place we have I can't say that I will be feeling any type of regret. We have everything on our "wish" list plus some things I thought we'd never have.

But, I think in the next few weeks and once February/March hit you will be seeing tons of listings!

No there is no obligation to the agent who put you on Listingbook. It is service that the agent subscribes to, to offer to prospects and customers.

i sure hope that more houses start coming out soon, it has been dead for a while. I'm also noticing how some sellers are still reluctant to lower their prices even in this type of market. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that i'll find something!

We're selling our house now and it's finally starting to get shown more. For a few weeks, we really didn't have too many calls for showings, but now, it's definitely more consistant.
