I wish nothing was wrong with me

I spoke to Dr B again today since I had so many questions on what he told me the other night. I feel very reassured since this issue is exactly what he specializes in and he treats many women with this issue but Im also sad because its finally started to hit me: I have a fertility issue. I will always have to go through this to conceive. I will have to see a high risk OB once I finally do get pregnant.

And its not just a one shot deal like I had mentioned in my other post. I have to do an infusion before even trying to get pregnant then I have to do 3 more AFTER Im pregnant. Not to mention I will have to take prednisone the first 10 weeks.

I know it can be worse and I should be thankful I can even get pregnant. This whole thing just sucks. Its so unfair. I just cant believe that for me, it will NEVER come down to just having sex and then a baby 9 months later Chat Icon

Sorry Lisa

I know it sucks! I am sorry you will have to go through all of this.

It is so hard that you have to go through this. When others can just look at each other and poof...they are pregnant. I can imagine how finding all this out made you feel. But please remember it is something that once treated you will go on to have a healthy pregnancy! I have a good feeling that will be soon!!!

I know it will not be an easy process but once everything does work out it will seem like a bad dream.

I'm sorry. It really ISN'T fair. But like you said, at least you WILL be able to have a healthy pregnancy. All this work you've got to do for it - it'll just make you appreciate it all the more when you DO have a baby in your arms. Chat Icon

It isn't fair at all... but at least you are aware of the problem and will be getting treatment for it. Hang in there, we are rooting for you!

I'm in the same exact boat Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Found out this morning that in addition to our auto immune issues we have two blood clotting disorders to work with. Dr. B does have a plan for us and I'm happy that there are valid explanations for our losses. Try to stay positive and know that we are being helped.

I agree. No one will ever REALLY appreciate a pregnancy and eventually a child the way we all will. I look at a my friends who are going through a healthy 1st pregnancy and I am so jealous that I will never go through a pregnancy the same way every again (without worries). It makes me so furious when they constantly complain about not being able to drink, putting on weight or morning sickness. I dont know about anyone else but I would trade places with them in a second.

Re: I wish nothing was wrong with me

I hate when life is unfair to good people, it really just isn't fair. The fair part is that one day you will in fact have a wonderful baby that is yours and DH, and I pray that happens soon! I hope that one day when you have that little baby in your arms you won't even remember having to go through all of this, or realize just how important is was to stay strong and go through all of this to finally hold your miracle. I truly wish you all the best!

Re: I wish nothing was wrong with me

Maybe my story will help. I have had fertility issues - been pregnant 5 times through fertility methods, lost 3 and have 2 healthy daughters. Dr. B got me pregnant thru and FET (and kept me pregnant despite all odds) and I had my second daughter 6 months ago. Well, last week I began feeling sick to my stomach, headache, waking up in the middle of the night and realized my period was a bit late. I bought a test on a whim expecting it to be negative given the fact that I was NEVER able to get (or stay) pregnant on my own. Well, the test was positive. I almost fainted b/c I was in an absolute state of shock. No drugs, no fertility treatments, nothing....I immed called dr. b since I had NO idea what to do. Given my history of ectopics/chemicals he wanted to see me asap. I am now 6 weeks pregnant and we saw a heartbeat. Still in shock...cannot believe that I was able to conceive naturally after trying for YEARS without any success. It can happen for you. Don't ever think it can't. Just b/c you may have to be treated now, does not mean you will have to be treated again. GL

Re: I wish nothing was wrong with me

I'm sooo sorry. I'm sorry there is something wrong....but I'm glad they found out what. It's just a shame they didn't find this out sooner. At least though you know there's a real good chance for the next one now!! I know it stinks to have to go through this each time.... but just focus on the fact that you have an answer and a plan that will work for the next one.

I'm actually a little annoyed that they don't start testing for more things after the first or second m/c... why wait till the 3rd or more?? it just seems like a lot of unnecessary turmoil. That bothers me.
