very gross medical question/issue
Hi. I'm posting this annonymously bc it is so gross that it's more than TMI but I need to know if anyone has had this and/or can help.
This is my second child. First one was vaginal birth w/ a nasty episiotomy and a looooooong recovery. I begged for a C-section but they said there was no medical necessity.
Well -- now I'm post second child with vaginal birth. I did not have an episiotomy but did tear and had lots of stiches. I went to the doc three weeks post-partem cause it didn't feel like it was healing correctly and I still saw/felt the stiches. The doc confirmed that they were still there but left them and said they'd dissolve.
Well -- now I've developed granulation tissue -- nasty. It's basically excess tissue in my vagina and (what feels like) rectal area. It hurts whenever I exercise or go tot he bathroom. I haven't even tried to have sex cause I know it will hurt.
I had the tissue cauterized (burned off) once and it hasn't helped. Was told I will likely need to have this done again.
Has anyone had this? What is the expected recovery time? I am six weeks postdelivery but I still feel like I had the baby like a week ago. If anyone has had this -- can you please tell me the name of your doc? Mine said this was the first time she had ever seen it -- which didn't inspire a lot of confidence on my part.
Please help! I'm scared I'll never be able to have sex again!

Re: very gross medical question/issue
I didn't have your issue, but did have a 2nd degree tear and some stitches that I felt like were never going to heal!
It did take some time though and it was longer than 6 weeks, so I would try waiting a little while longer and see what the doctor says, or maybe visit a plastic surgeon?

I have no advice, just so very sorry you are going through this. You shouldn't feel like you are gross. This could happen to any of us and that is why we are all here, to help one anotherout and provide support.

No advice because I ended up needing an emergency C with my first but many many hugs! IMO its also nothing to be embarrassed about- I mean we talk about stuff leaking out and hemmies on this board.
