I hurt my back really bad!
Do I call my regular doc? I can barely move 
I woke up a few hrs ago ,and it took me forever to get out of bed it hurts so bad ! I have never felt this amount of pain from my back in my life  even sitting here is pure torture  anyone ever go through this? What was the outcome?

Honestly I'd see a chriopractor.
I have gone to the Dr for back pain and their solution is to take some advil or muscle relaxers etc.
That will help ease the pain yes, but it's not solving the problem long term.
I have gotten the best relief from chiropractic adjustments.

I agree with the PP. My Chiropractor has worked wonders on my back when I was barely able to walk.

Go to your doctor FIRST, get a diagnosis from an MD, and THEN go to the chiropractor.
I have serious, serious back problems stemming from two separate incidents. Chiropractors are a godsend to me, but there are some things you do need an MD for. I'd see an orthopedist first, then go to a chiro if necessary.

Thank you ! 6 yrs ago I fell when I was pregnant and broke my tailbone ..ever since then it hasn't been the same ! I have numbness from my waiste down to the top of my knee ! I definately need to go !

I agree! Always see your doctor BEFORE going to a chiropractor. You don't know what kind of injury it could be.

A chiropractor can do x-rays on premises most of the time, and can also send you for an MRI if need be.
To the OP, I used to see an AMAZING chiropractor when we lived on LI--if you are near Farmingdale and would like his information, let me know! Feel better, back pain is truly the worst

Are you sure? Port Jeff. Station is a hike from Farmingdale--probably about 40 minutes or so...

I've broken my back twice and have had multiple other back / disc issues. I know chiros can take x-rays, etc. I still would never go to a chiropractor for my initial Dx and initial phases of treatment. I love chiros - I think they are miracle workers, but I would never go to one without working with a good orthopedist first.
And I've been to multiple chiros and multiple orthos (and multiple back specialists). Have nothing against chiros, but I personally would never recommend them as the first stop, especially not for a new back problem.

a chiropractor is much better at diagnosing a back or neck problem than most general practitioners and general orthopedists, i would make a chiropractor my first stop for a back problem
