I could never do something like that without telling my DH. However, I could not imagine my DH telling me what I should do in that situation either. I think you need to have a serious talk about the ramifications of possibly having another baby. Or at least tell him you are going to do it beforehand.
Plenty of people have children when not in the best financial situation and it works out just fine.

IMO you would be violating his trust and I would even go as far as say breaking a marriage vowel. Stay true to your husband. Doing that behind his back is so wrong. How would you feel the other way around?
This is kind of harsh for you to say, to bring up my marriage vows??? Would it be better for me to take the pill and then tell him? B/c the bottom line is that he doesn't want to prevent a pregnancy and I do. I had a momement of anxiety, was nervous and contemplated the idea but feel better thanks to the support of all the ladies who responded on this post and FMed me with their personal stories.
I can see where this post is headed so I'm going respectfully say thank you for everyones oppinons and you'll know the outcome if you see me on the pregnancy board!
She said vowels, not vows. IMO your probably doing 99% of the work w/ the baby, so your opinion counts more, but I would inform him (not ask) that I was taking the pill.
Yeah, some people feel like they don't have the money and make it work, but many can't make it work. It's hard enough when you are ready, emotionally, financially, and physically...

I think that eventually that would or could come out and that would not be good. I think that if you did and he was highly against it that you could hurt your relationship. I know this seems like an overboard response but you have to be honest with him. JMO

Trust me, the day i found out i was preg with ds #2 i freaked out since ds #1 was 7 months old... yes it is hard since i now have a 7 week old and a 17 month old, but in many ways i think it is actually easier...
as for taking the pill without tellling dh, i personally couldnt do it, but i tell dh EVERYTHING so it is just me

honestly if it was me, i'd never do something so important behind DH's back. i'd rather fight it out and come to a solution together than risk hurting him by lying. thats a huge break in trust that we couldnt come back from.
but im not in your shoes and thus i cant dictate what you should do.

I wouldn't take the pill without telling him either!!!! I got preggos when my son was 6 months !!!!! It was a total SHOCK!!!!! we couldn't get pregnant with our first, different reasons why, so we didn't think it would happen( we werent trying) and , yes it did, and now we have a BEAUTIFUL almost 5 month old.
My DD and DS are 15 months apart, and let me tell you it's challenging at time, but SOOOOOOOOO meant to be :)

I personally would not take the pill without telling him. I have three under 2 1/2 and yes it is sometimes difficult but well worth it. Nicholas and Giada are 15 months apart and Giada and Olivia are 13 months apart... take it from me you are VERY fertile the first year after pregnancy. Hope it works out for you.

I think you need to just tell him how you feel. It will get to you if you do it and dont tell him. Its sort of like crossing a line...I know you are freaking so your probly just reacting...We are all normal and can see your point in all this. With that being said personally I would never take one of those just in general because of my beliefs etc. I do not think badly of those who do but I just dont believe in it. You are most likely not preggo if it took you a long time etc...
