Please Help West Babylon school

I'm sure most of you have heard about our school. I am the speech-language pathologist at South Bay and have been there for 13 yrs. I love that school, our students, and our community! We lost everything. They are doing a fundraiser at the local fire dept. I've posted the info below..please if you can help, we would appreciate it.

Thanks for posting. My kids were Santapoguers and wanted to do something to help. Please keep us posted as to anything else we can do.

My daughter goes to South Bay.
The administration has done an amazing job with the move and making sure the students are comfortable. You have all gone above and beyond for our children and I cant thank you enough.

Im a teacher in queens and have a ton of books that I will be dropping off.
A lot of teachers here have also given me books to donate.
If you hear of anything else that can be used (supplies) please FM me.

Are these books for the kids to use or any kinds of books to be used for a book sale to raise money? Just trying to figure out if adult fiction donations or pre-k books are useless to you.

I have some weeding to do with my collection, if you don't mind those books, I'd be more than happy to donate them.

Hi All! Thanks for the support!!! It's been tough but we are all pulling together and the generosity from everyone is wonderful.

Yes, I cannot believe that within a few days admin, parents, and teachers were able to get a school ready in pretty much a day. Amazing!!


If people are looking for ideas for donations, I heard the high school is full of supplies and books. So much has come in the last 3 days. Items of that nature are coming in faster than they can keep up with. They mentioned telling people gift cards for places like Barnes & Noble, Borders, or those Visa gift cards. They mentioned getting those in small increments, then the teachers can start replacing specific items that were lost in the fire. I hope this helps.

I am a social worker in an east end school and I just submitted a flyer to my admin for approval to hold a supply/book drive for your school!! As long as i get the okay they will go out to parents, students, staff next week!! I will drop everything off to the FD when the drive is complete...after reading the above posts, Ill see if I can add the gift cards as options.

My school is doing a book drive for your school. One of our first grade teachers is good friends with a first grade teacher there.

I'm a SLP too. I may have some things around my room that I'm not using that I personally bought (not the district). If you would like, I can look for you and pass them along directly. I can ask the other SLPs in my district too (we have 11). I'd love to help and know it is going directly to the SLP! FM me if you want.

ETA: have you/your administrators contacted Super Duper and Linguisystems? I know they make donations when tragedies happen.

Are you taking other supplies besides books? I was going through some of my teaching stuff and found puzzles, games and things like that I could donate

i am a first grade teacher and will gladly donate books, supplies, items... Good Luck to all the faculty, administration, staff, and students to get through this year!!!
