Genetic Testing Results are in....
Trisomy21. Down's syndrome
We both now have to go for testing to see if either of us are a carrier.
Anyone else have this as a genetic result from a d and c??

I just wanted to say that I think you are super brave for finding out what was wrong, I don't know if I would ever want to know what was really wrong with the baby I miscarried unless it kept happening.

we didn't have this result but i wanted to send you lots of and let you know that the message boards at babycenter.com are sometimes very helpful......i always read the "termination for medical reasons" board (since that's what we went through) and there are women there with the trisomy diagnosis...there are also (i believe) specific boards just for trisomy so you may want to check it out

After the DNC, I also had a tissue sample sent away to be tested. But, ours was found that the baby had full Trisomy 16. (Supposedly a common cause of first trimester miscarriages.) Dr. B did a Genetic makeup test and found nothing wrong with our genetics. Good Luck with everything and keep at it.

Yes, we were told the same thing after our D& C in July. We went for genetic counseling a few weeks later. After talking to the doctor they seemed to think it was "spontaneous" and unlikely to happen again... I did feel somewhat better having a clear answer for the MC. At least I could stop questioning, playing the "What if" game, or blaming myself.

I didn't get tested cause I used the meds...and when I did have a D&C it came back as female tissue...but I just wanted to send I hope you get your answers.
