Which bottles?

I'm lost when it comes to bottles. For now, I just put two starter kit packs from two different brands. But that was just spur of the moment registering...

Which bottles did you guys register for and for any particular reason??

Re: Which bottles?

we have the Tommee Tippee bottles and we picked them since they are supposed to be the closet to the real thing and they have been the #1 brand in the UK since the 60s Chat Icon

Re: Which bottles?

Its good to register for few different kids because you never know what the baby will like. We used Avent with my son and I am hoping they work out for us again this time.

We went with the Born Free bottles.

A lot of friends had recommended them, along with Dr Browns. DS is happy with them.

I registered for the Born Free. I read the reviews on BRU and people seemed to like these one. Hoping the baby does too!

Re: Which bottles?

We went for the Dr. Brown's bottles. Consumer Reports had great things to say about them and that studies proved they reduced the amount of colic and gas in babies.

Re: Which bottles?

We registered for Dr. Browns and Playtex Drop-Ins. I really hope that Chat Icon likes the drop-ins because it would certainly make life a lot easier.

Born Free based on many recommendations from friends/family.

Avent I have heard lots of negative things on - #1 being that they leak like crazy.

Some people love the Playtex Drop Ins...I know I would HATE dealing with those baggies - it's hard to tell how many ounces baby has drank with those. Again - people swear by them though...just not for me.

Others swear by Dr. Browns...I couldn't deal with all those pieces!

Totally a personal decision...the top ones that most on here seem to use are the Tommee Teepee (sp?), Born Free, Dr. Browns and Playtex Drop Ins.

Re: Which bottles?

I think I will register for Dr. Browns b/c I've heard a lot of good reviews, but I've also seen BreastFlow bottles which are supposed to be great for BFing and bottle feeding together. Might just get both and try them out!

Re: Which bottles?

You never know what the baby will take to...

We went through a few of them before we found the right one for our DD.

I used the Born Free and will use them again when this one comes along.

Re: Which bottles?

My DD loved the drop ins. They were very easy to travel with, because you dont need to take extra bottles everywhere. All you need to do is take one bottle and extra bags.
Good luck!

Re: Which bottles?

We went with Playtex Drop Ins for two reasons: 1- No sterlizing entire bottles and parts other than nipples 2- On the Parenting board Mommies highly recommended them!

We also registered for the Tommee Tippee bottles because I want to BF and I've heard also that they're great for those who BF and pump.

Re: Which bottles?

I have Born Free and have been happy with them. I also used Dr Browns (wide neck) before they were BPA free. So I would go with those too. But I have 10 Born Free bottles from DD. Hopefully DS likes them too.

I would get a few different kinds and once your LO takes to a particular bottle, use your gift cards to stock up on bottles.

Re: Which bottles?

We were so confused as well. All my BTDT mom friends recommended different ones.

We ended up putting 2 brands on the registry - Dr. Browns & Born Free. These were the 2 most recommended from my friends.

We registered for the starter kits for both brands. However, we also put 1 4oz individual bottle for each as well. That way we can open the individual bottle & try it out with DC. Whichever, he doesn't take to than we return the starter kit.

If you open the kit its all yours to keep - so I'd rather lose $5 versus anywhere between $30-$45 for the kit.
