Need Help! WWYD???
I have worked for the same CPA firm for about 9 years. The partners have decided to split and continue on their own. They gave each of us the option of staying with either partner or going elsewhere. Now here is my problem. I live in Suffolk County, the one partner is staying in Westbury (where my office is now) and the other is moving to Rockville Centre - and he is who I would mostly like stay with. Rockville Centre is just way too far to travel every day. I am looking at this as a blessing in disguise so I can find somehting closer to home. I have been looking for another, and hopefully in Suffolk. I guess I am just looking to hear your opinions on this bizarre situation. Thanks.

i would chose the partner you are more comfortable working with. i had two partners in my last job and i got switched after 5 years to work with the other partner and hated it. i left a couple of months later.

Re: Need Help! WWYD???
Where in Suffolk do you live? I work in Lynbrook and live in Suffolk, and honestly, it's only 15 miles each way. I don't take the Southern State so it really is NOT that bad of a commute.
I'd go with the partner you like and just put your resume out and take your time interviewing. At least you know what to expect with that partner. You don't want to jump into something just because it's a little closer to home where the environment could end up being horrible.
