NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
Just curious.
My company is closing at the end of June (more stress I don't need) and I can go with one of the partners who i opening an office in Rockville Center, but I live in Holtsville. I am just worried about the mileage and added stress.
Thanks.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
Right now.. i only commute 4 miles to work... every job before this i had a good commute. mastic beach to east babylon and eastport to east northport.
right now one of my co-workers commutes from west babylon to garden city... there is always delays on the southern parkway in the am..
if you would like help with some back roads to take. i live in west hempstead... fm me and i would be more than happy to tell you some back roads that might help.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
1 and 20 min door to door, via LIRR, E train and walking. Ahhh the price to pay for some grass The stress of a commute is A HUGE consideration, I work in the city, and I heart my job and the city life in general so for me, its worth it.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
maybemommy10 - I could have written your post...We have the same exact commute...So funny! Commuting long distance can be stressful but then you get used to it and it's part of your routine. Although, I will consider getting a job in LI if we are successful on our next IVF.

Yeah, we have discussed me staying home or working in LI when the time comes, because i honestly can't see me doing this forever with a baby at home.

50 miles each way...time varies though depending on the time of day. I also do a lot of driving during my work day.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
My commute is about 30 minutes door to door. I drive about 25 miles and about 23 miles of it is all Highway with no traffic and that's why I can get to my work in 30 minutes despite the 25 miles.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
I feel like my commute is swallowing me head first It's an hour in the morning which isn't bad ...... but in the afternoon it's typically anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours. If I stop at the supermarket to get stuff for dinner or do some other errand.. forget about it I'm a teacher and get out at 3..... and if I come directly home without stopping I usually walk in the door close to 5. It's pretty terrible but I won't be at my school much longer and regardless, the summer is coming.
Take it from me...... if it's more than an hour WITH traffic, stay away... stay far.. far.. away.........

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
mine is about an hour and ten minutes door to door.... 15 mins to the LIRR, finding parking, walking to train, 30 min LIRR ride, then either walking from penn to 22nd and 5th or walking to 34th and taking the R.
ive only been commuting to the city since march 1st, but i miss my old 15 minute drive to carle place !

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
My commute is from Nassau to Eastern Queens, approx 14 miles one way, about 25-30 mins. I work weekends also, so I cruise in on the weekends, I love being off during the week, I get so much done.
My husband commutes to the Bronx, approx 24 miles one way approx 50 minutes, but he commutes off peak hours. He works afternoons which is great, b/c he was able to come with me to doctor appointments in the morning.
Commute means a lot to me b/c I work 7am-4pm-peak hours.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
My commute was 1.5 hours each way from Huntington to Brooklyn via the lovely LIRR everyday. My job was super stressful. After every IUI, I would just hope on the train and go to work. After my ET, I took off for a week to reduce stress-----I think it helped a lot.

Re: NIFR: how far do you commute to work?
I commute about 48 miles each way. It takes me about an hour in the morning and about and hour and a half in the eve.
ETA: most of the time I take the time driving home to return phone calls and stuff and it usually makes time go by faster.
