Ok so I can't do ferberizing ...is this ok???
I just can't do it, let her scream, etc...do our nighttime routine and then let her lay on me and fall mostly asleep and then put her in right when she is pretty much almost asleep? She is happy and so am I ..is this bad?

Not bad at all. You have to do what works best for you.
I am a fan of the Ferber CIO method, but also realize that it's not for everyone!

No way is it bad, you do what makes you and your DC happy and what works for you.
Nothing is bad when your happy and its working-just because a certain method works for some, does not mean it works for all

Definitely not bad, I'm not a fan of ferberizing either and we all sleep well, albeit sometimes in the same bed.

Thank you all so much. Sometimes you just need a little reassurance. It is so hard sometimes to know if you are making the right decision but I guess if I go w/ my gut I can't go wrong.

Its absolutely fine! I always rocked my babies to sleep (until a year and half actually) and loved every min of it... wouldnt take it back for the world... At 2 years old ds sleeps just fine and all by himself! Id never do cio... its just not for everyone!

Re: Ok so I can't do ferberizing ...is this ok???
Let your instincts be your guide. If it hurts you, then it's probably not good. All babies will learn to sleep on their own when they are developmentally ready. Sleep training is not necessary unless as a parent, you are unhappy with the sleeping arrangements. Since you said that your current arrangement makes you both happy, then it's working. And, it's also beautiful. She will not be falling asleep like that forever and in the grand scheme of things 2, 3 or even 4 years is a very short time. One day you will look back fondly on all these snuggles....don't cut them short if you don't need to. She'll be independently sleeping in the near future...take advantage of her need to be close to you while it exists. To me, this is one of the most beautiful rewards of parenting.

Re: Ok so I can't do ferberizing ...is this ok???
Like everyone else said, you should do whatever works for you and your baby. DS is 9 months and he still falls asleep with me feeding or rocking him. I hold him for a little bit while he is asleep and then put him in his crib. I love this part of our day. A little part of me feels like I should be teaching him how to go to sleep on his own, I just don't want have to do it yet.

i couldnt do the cio either. now at 1 year we are shifting from putting him in the crib asleep to putting him in while he's groggy.

Re: Ok so I can't do ferberizing ...is this ok???
I never did CIO to put DS to sleeep. I rocked him until he was 16 months when he weened himself.
I did CIO in the middle of the night. I actually didnt mind rocking him, it was nice bonding time for us!
ETA: DS is now 28 months and we never have any sleep issues. So I dont think I did any harm. Now he goes into his crib awake and puts himself to sleep.
