Box Dye on Blonde Highlighted Hair
So my colorist isn't available for weeks and my roots are gross. My hair has been very blonde for about a year and I'm sick of it. I want to dye it myself a medium brown, my natural color, but afraid it will come out a weird color since its so blonde.
Anyone ever do drastic color change by yourself? How did it come out?

DONT DO IT!!!!!! I have light blonde highlighted hair and everytime I pull the lets box dye it brown...its turns GREEN so serious GREEEN..... Do not do it!!!!! PLEASE hahahaha I always end up paying out my ears to get it fixed HTH

I actually did it several times and never had an issue. my hair was very highlighted with bleach blonde highlights and I have gone brown a few times, never had an issue!
before with highlights (sorry only pic I have access to while at work-lol)

you have to use a dye with red undertones, not green/ash ones and it won't turn out green.

Some browns have a blue/green base. So, if you buy a boxed brown color your hair can turn green (blond yellow + blue/green = terrible green). I've done it by accident too. More then once ... the second time I thought I picked a brown that had a red base... but I was wrong 
I've learned my lesson for good 
I would rather take a chance with a new stylist then do it myself.
