If you have Chase as your bank
Tell me why you like them. Convince me why I might want to switch banks because I might be in the market for one.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
They're all over the U.S., so I can easily find an ATM when I travel.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
i just switched, so I can't really vouch for them long term, but I switched because of all the atms and branches locally. All Hess stations have Chase atm's.
Also, I signed up for the rewards checking account, and they seem to add up quickly and they are working with tons of stores, companies etc that give you 3x, 5x, even 7x the points for shopping with them. So you get back cash pretty often. (It does cost $25 a year, but you make that back fairly quickly).
And the last thing I like about Chase is the ease of online banking, mobile banking, and the text message system that sends me msgs immediately. I actually got a text while I was still signing for the purchase on Monday. You decide what alerts you want, and you can have the balance of your accounts instantly without having to find an atm or even go online.
So far my accounts are all free. Talk to me again in a year and we'll see if I'm still enamored with Chase. As of right now I'm glad I switched.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I like my personal banker. Very convenient locations. Got a great rate on my mortgage re-fi. They've changed their focus from the commercial/large depositors to the everyday mom n' pop customer.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I am satisfied with them. I have direct deposit so I don't pay monthly fees. There are branches & ATMs everywhere so there's no need to pay non-Chase ATM fees and the branch closed to where I live has a couple of late nights.
I have had my account for 20ish years and in that time I had 2 problems both times I felt they could have been more helpful in resolving the situation.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
They are everywhere--easy and free atm useage.
Everything is online. Every check I have ever written I can look up and print. (all banks may do this but Case is the only bank I have ever used )

I currently have BOA and enjoy their banking but I'm very angry at them right now because of my CC with them so I figure they don't deserve all my business

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I have had them for years. I think I'm still under the bank at work program from my job that I left 8 years ago. I have never had an issue with them. Last year, I had some fradulent charges on my debit card and they were quick to reverse it, investigate it and discuss safer options with me.

Pro - convenient locations and ATM all over. On line system is good
Cons - We were a former WAMU customer and got stuck with Chase. They totally screwed us with some HELOC problems and the customer service trying to straighten it out was a mess - took several weeks and calls. Fees up the wazoo - no more discount for direct withdrawl of payment for safety deposit box, you can only make 4 withdrawls or transfers of any kind (online, atm and even in person) from savings before incuring fees. Seems like every time I open a statement there is a new fee.
After the HELOC fiasco where they had so much mis-information and it was virtually impossible to find anyone that could do anything other than say "I'm really sorry - send a fax to this department, no, there is no phone number to speak to a live person" ... well, I just don't trust them much anymore but I don't think there are any better options out there either.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I had an account with them while I was an employee there for about 7 years.
I love their website and online bill pay - so easy to use.
I would have stayed but DH works for a credit union so it made sense to move our accounts.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I have had Chase almost 20 years (was Chemical) and I've never had any problems. I LOVE their online banking.
This is what I always tell people… ALL banks, or cell phone providers or credit card companies, or pharmacies… they ALL are going to have an issue here or there or have some unhappy customers, you just can’t please everyone… so I just pick ONE and stick with it. Chase, I have ALWAYS used them since I was 18, Verizon, since I had a cell phone I used them… they all $uck to some degree, so just pick one and stick with it.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I work for a bank.
I would suggest keeping your accounts at a savings bank over a commercial bank. Commercial banks are usually geared more towards business customers; and usually fees are higher. Savings banks are geared more for personal accounts.... and this the interest rates and products are usually higher and better for personal accounts. You will know a savings bank from a commercial by the title. Any savings bank will have the word savings in the title.
I work for a commercial bank too and I'm saying this. Not that they are bad for personal accounts... I personally would prefer to get higher intersest etc and bank with a savings bank.

This pretty much sums up why I use them.
I've got no complaints as of yet, but I've only been with them since March.

Re: If you have Chase as your bank
I really like that they have so many locations and their online banking is great BUT I had them for years and always found new fees on my statements. I would call and they would reverse the fees but I hate having to worry about the fees so I switched. I still have one account with them and again I'm finding fee and having to call customer service.
I switched to Commerce bank and had no problems until they became TD bank...I just can't always keep their min balance so I'm always getting charged $15
I just opened an acct at captial one-no min balance no fees (so far). I like chase online banking better though
