Preschool teacher gifts
Of course I wait to the last minute to get my DS teachers a gift. He has 4 assistants and one main teacher. He is in preschool. One of the assistants is also his before care teacher and the other 3 work part-time. At Christmas time, another parent took a collection which was so easy.
Any thoughts on gifts? He graduates tomorrow and his last day is Thursday.
Thanks!

Re: Preschool teacher gifts
Most parents at our school give money. In DS's class someone took up a collection of $20 for each teacher.

Re: Preschool teacher gifts
One of the mom's took up a collection for Ella's pre-school teachers ($20/teacher - she has 2).
I'll be getting them something else as well, but I don't know what yet.
For the holidays, I gave them gift certificates for a spa pedicure (in addition to the collection).

I give cash - they don't get paid anywhere near what they should for the job we ask them to do.

Re: Preschool teacher gifts
My son's class does collections and gives visa gift cards and flowers. I feel like I want to give more since the collection is $20 for both teachers (14each per student). They have been so wonderful and feel like they deserve more but at the same time I don't want to be that mom that goes away from the pack and look like I am showing off giving more. I am working with my son who wanted to write them a story about preschool so they will get a cutesy gift as a thanks as well.

I always give more. I stick money in a card from either DS or DD. That way none of the other moms know if it's just a card or has something in it.
We make the cards ourselves. I glue a pic of the kid on the front, and then write a note inside to the teacher about the past year and then they sign it.

I am in the same situation here....The class mom took up a collection and I would like to give something else...Last year there was no class collection and I gave the teacher (same teacher) 5x the amount , so I really don't feel like the gift is adaquete for all she (and the assistants) have done for him...

Re: Preschool teacher gifts
I think I'm going to do gift cards to Target, or cash... Probably $25. There is one teacher who is amazing with my son and I would like to give her more, but I'm not sure that's the right thing to do.

Re: Preschool teacher gifts
The class mother took up a collection. She chose to not mention said collection to me so I cant say what it was...(long story)
I gave both his teacher and the assistant teacher a $50 Visa gift card. There was an aid in the classroom until the new year who still fills in from time to time so I got her are $25 Visa gift card. I then gave a card and a $25 Dunkin Donuts gift card to the preschool classroom....
