People familiar with RE Broker licenses...
I am currently an attorney and am looking to do Real Estate part-time as an additional source of income. Since I am an attorney I know I can apply for a Broker license and waive all requirements.
My question is - I would want to work for a company (i.e. Coldwell Banker, etc,) but am not entirely sure. Can I apply for a license as an individual or do I have to apply for one as an Assoc. Broker? Can I have an "individual" and work for a company?
If I have an Assoc. license can I go off on my own if I want to or am I tied to that company?
Thank you!!!

Re: People familiar with RE Broker licenses...
you would have to get your associate broker lic if you are going to work for someone else- b/c there will already be a broker there
then you will need to change to a broker lic if you are going to go out on your own
you are never tied to a company- the company just holds your lic
if you want to switch- you just terminate you lic at that company thru the DOS- but it does not terminate your Lic overall

Re: People familiar with RE Broker licenses...
I am an attorney and work part time doing real estate refinance closings. If you want info on how to get into this field, send me a FM. The job is awesome, I get decent $$ for basically driving all over Long Island doing closings after my full time job ends at 6 pm.
