Just wondering, if you tutor, what is your hourly rate?

Re: tutoring rates
$75 an hour for jobs I've had for a year+ $85 an hour for any new sessions.
I know someone that charges $125 and does HW with the kids!!! It's in Greenwich though.

Re: tutoring rates
75-100/ hour. I'm charging 75 this summer, but they are giving me 16 hours a week. ETA: I live in the Hamptons so these are city families that are here for the summer.

Re: tutoring rates
Where do you ladies advertise your tutoring services? I have a degree in Education but can't find a teaching job. All my teacher friends always recommend tutoring but I don't even know where to start. I see A TON on craigslist all the time but I feel like my chances of getting a job from there would be slim to none due to the amount of people on there.

I know it's really hard getting tutoring jobs. This is my first summer tutoring, but it's students that I had in my class this year. I think it really is word of mouth. Tell friends to tell their friends, family members, etc. Good luck!

Re: tutoring rates
I started with former students and now get new sessions through another teacher that recommends me during parent conferences if they ask. Took me 4 years in my district before I started getting any jobs.
