Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
Is anyone truly just BD w/ no outside helps? Not temping, not using ovulation detectors, no pre-seed? Just maybe tracking your cycle?
I'm thinking this time around that is what we'll do. The last time it seemed the more we temped, or used ovulation kits or stressed, the more pressure it put on us & the more it didn't happen.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
This is our method. On month 3 of knowing my cycle I got pregnant with DC#1. We are going with the same motto this time around as well.

Nope. Everything with me is carefully calculated and planned and monitored by my RE. I wish I could just not think about it and get pregnant.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
Yes, I am trying to keep things simple. I've been tracking my cycle durations and signals (like o pain and spotting) in my phone's calendar for about a year now to try to understand my cycles better. July is our first month of active trying, so I'll find out soon enough if just relying on this type of calendar method will work or not. If it doesn't work for us by autumn, I'm sure I'll explore additional methods like temping or an O detecting kit or something.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
Honestly this is our 2nd month trying and if we don't get PG this month I think that I am not going to temp or use OPK's anymore. This month the OPK never gave me a positive sign but I know I ovulated because my cycle is pretty regular and I always get Ovulation pain and EWCM which I did around CD14/15. Temping predicted I ovulated on CD11 which I am pretty sure is wrong.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
I am....and we are past 6 cycles......I just can't get myself crazy. THings tend to work out in my life in due time so I figure this will too.....at the right time it will happen. I don't temp and used OPKs for one cycle and do not take PG tests unless Im late (which I was only once).
Let me tell you it makes the whole process fun.....I read too many stressful stories on here that I could never be that obsessive over the process.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
Last month was our first month of TTC and we didn't temp or use ovulation tests. I mainly was just looking at my CM.
AF came two days late this month (which it never does!) so I want to be sure I know when I O this month, so I started temping and bought ovulation tests. If I hadn't been late, I probably would have just kept looking at my CM.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
If I had done that, I would have no shot of getting pg and no idea. I'm a special case because I seldom ovulate on my own. But if I didn't temp / use OPK's / go to the doctor I wouldn't have known there was an issue and would have wasted months or years when it's hardly physically possible for me to get pg.
I wish we could be more spontaneous though, I really do.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
I started using preseed last month and that didnt help!!
I just decided to temp and use OPK's starting in the next 1 or 2 cycles because I really really really want a summer baby!
For me the OPK's I used in the past were a waste of $$ because DH ended up with a severe injury and we have to BD on his schedule not mine so the OPK's were a waste for me personally. Since DH is almost done healing we may be able to start BD'ing on my good days so I will start buying them again.
For now I just BD whenever DH can around EWCM days if possible.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
LOL, I would find that impossible to do, but we'll see ...Starting TTCing next month and you should see my bathroom between OPKs and Preseed and HPTs and prenatals. Oh any my bookmarks on my computer, FF, MMC and Baby Center. Just a little obsessed.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
we are moving on to cycle two. i will still be using OPKs and keeping track of days and symptoms. since AF came today I am feeling pretty down and bummed and i know some of these feeling have to do with how much time and effort i spent plotting and planning. but whatever, i am a planner at heart i guess.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
me! I really dont even consider myself TTC because we are just taking a whatever happens approach. I honestly have no clue when I ovulate or anything, we don't temp, chart, use anything. Just BD and see what happens.
Thats what we did for DS, in fact if anythign I was hoping not to get pregnant just yet (wanted to wait a few more months as I was planning a trip to Europe at the time...) But DS was better than any trip!

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
DS#1 was conceived the old fashioned way. I knew you ovulate in the middle of the cycle and we just BD'ed more around then.
If you want to get pregnant right away, you should probably use OPKs. If you're in no rush, just BD as you wish.
For me, I really wanted to give DS a sibling close in age. I was more proactive with this cycle and used a OPK and got pregnant right away!

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
I have been been doing that for the past 5 cycles. This is our 6th and I started using OPKs because AF came 2 weeks late last month and it was so stressful. I am using them more to just see if I am even ovulating, more than to plan BD. We are just BD'ing every day or other day and seeing how that goes. Honestly, the daily disappointment of seeing the "o" on the OPK has me thinking I am only going to do it for this month.

We are. I was blessed with a very regular cycle... (almost textbook!) 28d cycle, Day 14 O. We are leaving this in the hands of faith & praying for a devine intervention.

Dava I think you took the words right out of my mouth!!
With some of us it is not possible to just take things as they happen or they would never have happened.

Waiting to see when I even ovulate again since my miscarriage. I just charted my AF last time and that worked so I'm going to try that approach again!

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
We got PG without monitoring... we were not activily ttc just taking it as it comes. We knew we wanted to start sometime around this time... it worked out to our surprise... just grateful for LI families and other websites with information on how to stay informed during the process...

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
we are letting what happens happen. I dont plan on doing the temping or strict ovulating days unless necessary after a few months, im gonna try to enjoy it in the beginning, guess we will wait and see

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
I am lucky to be on a regular 28d cycle...i have just been tracking when I will O and be most fertile from ovulation calendar. This is our 3rd cycle. With our first I tracked everything for months and I ended up getting pg when we decided to stop trying for a while...so I am hoping to have the same luck this time around.

Re: Is anyone truly taking it as it comes?
we are! the only thing we are doing is making sure to every other day or every day. I originally was just whenever it happened, but when I saw my OB for my checkup he said it will take us a long time that way and we should stick to doing it every other day or everyday, and not more then 1x in a day
