ER Update
Hi thought i would give u guys an update on my ER on Friday. it went well. Only hickup was that my husband had to pull over on to the side of the road after i had thrown up all over his new car. In my defense I told him to pull over earlier & he was just taking waaaaaaay too long. Im sure it was just from the anasthesia & i was feeling fine later in the day, so no biggie. On to the details. They retreieved 22 eggs they performed ICSI on 15 & 10 fertilized
so keep your fingers crossed that alot make it through to tomorrow & prossibly wed.
Started the PIO shots last night as well. Not a fan. I was pretty tough with all the others but these ones do not feel good. Also the mail order pharm sent me the wrong needles to draw up (18g) so it took me forever to fill the syringe. Let me know if you have any tips. Thanks

Re: ER Update
Great #'s !!!!
In case you aren't doing it....With the PIO it helps greatly if your DH spreads the skin taut while giving the injection...For me it makes a world of difference
Good Luck !
ETA- Also, I lean over the countertop in my bathroom with the knee slightly bent in on the side that is getting the injection....
I don;t do these things, but they say warming the PIUO in your hands before hels it go in...Also massage afterwards!

Re: ER Update
I found sitting on a heating pad for 5 min before the shot decreased the pain SIGNIFICANTLY.
also, make sure DH does it quickly like a dart, when he hesitates, it hurts more.

Re: ER Update
Make sure and massage the area really good after he puts the shot in. If you don't you will be really sore the next day. Also try and drink lots of water and eat veggies bc the progesterone can constipate you along with the anesthesia. Just an FYI so you can be more comfortable after the transfer!!! Great numbers!!!

Ha - This is actually really good advice. I have been pretty backed up the last couple of days...lol - TMI ahead - i have obvi become completely neuorotic & am afraid to push too hard in the bathroom, like my lining is going to fall out or something. Clearly i am losing my mind

Re: ER Update
One other word of advice that has helped me with the pio, is my dr. told me to ice the site for a couple minutes before the injection. That seems to help me a lot. Than immediately after I sit on a heating pad for about 5 minutes. I hth! Congratulations and best wishes with everything. By the way, those numbers sound great!!
