Re: High Risk Ob/Gyn
I think I FM you the DR I used. They are in Great Neck on Northern Blvd. 516-622-5155.
I saw all the Drs in the group but Dr Lewis delivered the triplets and I loved her. Dr Smith Levitson (sp) is great also

I am seeing Dr. Kofinas on Stewart Ave in Garden city. Supposedly he's one of the best in the country. We've only seen him twice but so far we have no problems. Everyone in the office is really nice too!

Re: High Risk Ob/Gyn
My reg OB doesnt deliver triplets so I had to use the High risk one for the entire pregnancy but I loved the group and my reg OB and the high risk one were friends so I was very comfortable with seeing somebody else.

I am not sure as i just started going there. I was actually going to ask him on my next appointment on Monday if i will need to see my regular OB and if not where does he deliver. My regular OB is right next door to Dr. Kofinas' office. I am 13 weeks and have not even seen them yet. Sometimes the insurance websites will tell you what hospital the Dr. is affiliated with. You can also call them and ask the girls behind the desk. They will explain everything to you regarding insurance and answer any questions you have. I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes just asking questions. The # is 516-832-0300 if you want to give them a call.

I do see both, but that is just because my regular OB wanted to follow the babies' growth very closely and the high risk practice does a much better job of it and has better equipment. My regular OB will be delivering the babies, though.

Re: High Risk Ob/Gyn
I had a regular OB who delivered the babies and I went to see every other week, but he sent me over to Madonna Perinatal in Mineola who were my high risk doctors and took over my care from around 16 weeks on. I went to them for all the sonograms and other tests I needed and then they made the decision (with my OB) to deliver me early. They were not in the delivery room though.
NOt sure if you can make an appointment with them or you need to be referred to them via your doctor.

Dr. Kofinas doesn't deliver...he just monitors you up to the end. You will need to have a regular ob as well but I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kofinas...I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his whole practice. It is 110% because of him I have my babies today!

yeah i just found this out today! He told me to call my ob and make an appointment. i asked like 5 million times if i was still going to be seeing him. he said i will still be going to his office. Thank goodness because I don't think i can handle leaving another office that i absolutely love.
