anyone own a split?
we just bought a split level and we cannot for the life of us figure out how to access our attic. theres no pull down in the hall and we checked all 3 bedroom closets to see if there was access in there... nothing... the listing did say there was an attic now that i look back at it.. but all i can find is a crawlspace door in the smallest bedroom. im hoping that its not considered the "attic".... anyone here own a split and if so , where is your access? TIA!

do you have a walk in closet in your master...ours is over to the right of our walk in closet in our master...its a small door you open and go up into..we never use it...

we actually have two attics. One over the living room/kitchen/garage level and one over the bedrooms.
The attic over the bedrooms is accessed by a hatch in our bedroom closet.
The attic over the main level was accessed through a hatch in the living room closet. We just had pull down stairs put in last week though. We had the stairs put in in the garage.

i actually do not have a walk in closet in the master, but i may just have to get something installed as the PP mentioned. thanks for the input!

I highly recommend it. Going through the tiny hatch was a giant pain. We had to empty out the closet, take out the pole, pull down the shelf, grab the ladder, slide the hatch, etc. Now, we go into the garage and pull the steps down!

We have a split and we have 2 attics. 1 entrance is in the closet in the spare room....you have to remove the bar in the closet to see the small cut-out on the wall and the other entrance is through the top of the linen closet in the hallway.

we have a really small entrance in the closet in one of the bedrooms. not sure what type split you have, my friends have a smaller crawlspace type attic

We have two access points. One in our bedroom (which was a smaller bedroom, we knocked down a wall to make a bigger master) and one in our closet. We lost some of the space when the previous owner made cathedral ceilings.

Our attic is accessed through our linen closet, which is to say that we NEVER access it. I really want to use it. We need to have stairs installed in the hallway.

Ours is accessible via the MBR closet, but it's not an attic where you can store stuff. We have a crawlspace that's accessible via our laundry room.

This is what I have and another one in the ceiling of the smallest 3rd bedroom. Neither is really accessible so we plan on adding a pull down stair in the hallway eventually
