pressure on my cervix?
All day I've been having Braxton Hicks (the subtle, belly tightening without the pain) and now I'm feeling pressure and a slightly sharp pain on my cervix. I am 25w6d pregnant. Should I be worried????? Anyone else have this????
I read online that it could be: 1-cervix starting to open 2-baby kicking cervix 3-baby's head on cervix
Before I call the dr and panic I figured I'd ask here...also, no matter if I'm standing, sitting, or laying down it doesn't get better.

Re: pressure on my cervix?
Not to worry you but last week at one of my appointments they found out that my cervix had already begun to shorten (down to 1.6 cm as opposed to the average being 2.5) and the first thing they asked me was if I had been feeling any pressure. I hadn't but obviously that didn't matter. Now I am on bedrest until further notice. I would just get in contact with your dr. and they'll probably check out your cervix length to make sure everything is ok. Good luck!

Yeah that's what I was thinking...when I wake up tomorrow I'm going to call them. Are you on COMPLETE bed rest?

Re: pressure on my cervix?
Yes unfortunately. Although I have to admit I have been getting up to do little minor things every couple of hours or so. But they didnt seem overly concerned with it but it's obviously something they're keeping an eye on every week now.

Mine too! I cant get comfortable. In fact thats part of the reason why I have to get up and walk around every once in awhile, bc my back kills me in any other position besides standing.

Re: pressure on my cervix?
You can take Tylenol.
Having DH with you is probably a good idea. When they first told me I started crying. Definitely the hormones kicking in bc what they were telling me wasnt even that bad at all. Just the fact that I no longer was having a "normal" pregnancy made me cry. And I was by myself so I felt like an idiot! lol

I am calling the Dr. today for the same reason. I have had some pressure and sharp pains down there. I also had pains in my back and cramping when I would pee... all night long.. so now I am a little nervous. I feel better this morning but I am still going to call. Hope you feel better

sorry I just saw this or I would have responded when you first posted- I'm 27 weeks and I have the same thing and it was just the baby as well- but glad everything is ok and that the doctor put your mind at rest!

I went to the Dr. and NOTHING was wrong with me. I was so mad to have wasted my time but happy that evyerhting was fine. She tested my urine, did an internal exam, took a look at the baby everything was fine. She thinks I was dehydrated and the baby was on a nerve. As for the pressure, apparently thats just all normal now.
