How rough is too rough?
Need some help. Whenever my DH brother in law and sons (their in their 20s) come to visit I have a problem with the way they play with our 3 year old son (mind you, this has been going on even before he turned 3) They toss him around, hang him upside down by ankles, swing him by his wrists, and get him out of control. They make him hit them and tackle them. He goes to daycare and I always seem to have a problem with him a week following their visit. I try to explain to him now that he's a little older that he can't play like that at school with friends because someone could get hurt. I just don't know what to do, I'm not assertive so I try to approach it in a nice way but they don't listen. My DH just tries to take him out of situation so he doesn't have to say anything to family. My dad and stepmom agree with me that they play way too rough with him so I don't think I'm overreacting. What would you do? Do u think I am overreacting?

Re: How rough is too rough?
I'd just be direct and tell BIL and the sons that they are not to be rough around DS. (When they come over of course). Tell them that it leads to him being rough with other children at school and you don't want it happening anymore. If they give you grief, tell them too bad!
