Re: Neighbor? - dumpster
You are paying for the dumpster. You are the one who has to pay if it gets filled and you need another. And he's just sneaking it in, didn't even have the decency to ask your permission but he has the balls to take it upon himself use it? What the eff? I dont know why I am ever shocked by people anymore... I'd be pizzed and I'd say something and get him to remove his stuff if possible without having to physically assaulting him. Bc I just picture someone like that being self entitled enough to deny its his stuff (cowardly dbag) or ballsy enough to mock your annoyance (obnoxious dbag)

Re: Neighbor? - dumpster
wow I can not believe the nerve!! I think you need to address the situation now, Don't ignore it bc you are going to be neigbhors for a long time. Normally I would say leave it alone bc I am not confrontational but this is really too much

Re: Neighbor? - dumpster
If the dumpster is in the street than anyone can put their stuff in. I had a few dumpsters in the past year while the construction was going on. My neighbor who I knew was dumping his stuff in my dumpster actually had the nerve to start a fight with me because he was done using the dumpster and claimed it was an eye sore in the neighborhood. It was in front of my house. I dont talk to that neighbor anymore. We use to be very good friends.
I would ask him not to put anything in the dumpster and also ask him to remove his stuff or ask him to ask you first

I would take it out too and put it on his lawn.

Re: Neighbor? - dumpster
honestly its very messed up- BUT these are youre neighbors that you will live with for years and years. he messed up 1st but you dont have to wage war here. you should just make sure you draw the line now and make sure he knows where you and him stand for in the future. lots of things can come up in the future, id try not to make enemies right away.. id ring the door bell, confront him face to face, and tell him you would have no problem if he tossed a few things if he bothered to ask. tell him in the future you would appreciate if he showed some respect and courtesy and you will do the same. if his wife is home, it might even be better to speak with her! she prob has no idea her husband is being a moron. good luck!

I would be annoyed, but I would let it go. Personally, it's not something I would start a war over.

Re: Neighbor? - dumpster
Will his junk cause you to not have enough room for all your own stuff? If so, then i'd go over to his house and tell him politely than you'd appreciate if he didn't take up space in your dumpster since you now don't have room for what you originally intended to use it for. Perhaps even ask him to remove his windows and see what he says.
If its not going to cause you any problems, then i'd probably still say something to him anyway - just to let him know that you know he did it and tell him if he wants to use the space, you'd appreciate his asking you first.
I'm not a fan of people that think dumpsters are there for anyone's junk, but i can understand the appeal of it.
We had a dumpster in our driveway for a week or so while we were renovating our kitchen and it was so liberating to throw out all this other random stuff that we may not have if the dumpster wasn't there! Of course, we were paying for it, so it was ok
