For those who use this practice..can you pick any doctor you want?

I am partial to having a woman but know that when I go into labor it could be anyone...I'm okay with that. Would just like a woman up until that time.
TIA

I go there!! Yes you can pick any doctor you want. They encourage you to see all of their doctors as anything can change when you go into labor or if you needed a c-section, etc. All of their doctors are great!!!!!

I go there as well and really like it. I have been able to make an appt with any doctor that I'd like to every time. I have seen Dr. Jurak almost every appt, except for I met Dr. Judge in an emergency situation--and he def wasn't my favorite. I met Dr. Lester my last appt and she seems okay. I loveeee Dr. Jurak and I've heard a lot of good things about Dr. Lockhart. Good luck!

I used to go there and loved Dr. Lockhart and Dr. Judge...didn't like Jurak or Lester and those are the two that ended up being at the hospital when I delivered!

You can make your appointments with whomever you like. They do like to ask if you've seen all the doctors yet. Whoever is on call that day is who will deliver your baby. DH and I like all of the doctors...Ammirata the least. Sort of on the cold side. We loooooove Dr. Judge. He always spends the most time with us and answers all of our questions. He's funny too!

However...we hate the wait and the office staff. They've messed up our appointments on several occasions. Done the same for friends of mine. My one GF went for her annual visit to find out they had scheduled her as an OB visit. Chat Icon What a way to find out your pregnant! Chat Icon She was like...um no....don't need to see an OB.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr Judge. I know you said you rather a woman but once you meet Dr Judge, you will change your mind.

ITA! But I also agree with the above poster who said they hated the wait and the office staff, that's mostly the reason I switched offices. I also didn't like that there were SO many doctors in the practice.

Same here. I waited 2 hrs. to get on once. Basically the reason I left.

I had posted previously that I wasn't a fan of Dr. Judge, so I feel like I should explain....

I had a previous miscarriage when I started going to Southbay and I was very grateful to Dr. Jurak, because she was very thorough and patient with my concerns. She had me come every week in the beginning for a sono and also did repeat bloodwork checks to check hormone levels. I had a scare where I was bleeding heavily at about 11 weeks (which is when I miscarried last time.) I saw Dr. Judge and although I suppose he was trying to make me feel better, he was making all these promises before he even examined me or did a sono. "Oh it'll be fine, stop crying..." he kept cracking jokes but I was already in hysterics because the nurse wasn't able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. He did do a sono and everything was completely fine, but then proceeded to give me a 15 minute lecture on how he made no guarantees and he said "I can promise you that you'll be a mother....what I can't promise you is that this will be the baby." I was very put off by that.
I also have a friend that was concerned because she was having dental surgery and called him to doublecheck that it would be okay. And his response was, "Well is your tooth in your uterus? I don't think so."
I am sure everyone has their own experiences and preferences when it comes to doctors. (On a side note, my MIL has gone to Judge forever and loveeeess him.)

Honestly, knowing Dr Judge for many years, his response to your friend was his personality and I can totally see him saying that with a smile = ) He is very relaxed and calming and always wants you feel like everything is okay..even if god forbid it isn't.

Everyone has their opinion and preferences and it depends on the type of person you are as well.

I saw Jurak 90% of my pregnancy. I didn't care who delivered me but I wanted to see her everytime if possible. Towards the end I did see Lester and someone else but I can't remember.

Jurak delivered dd. I also got to meet Judge. LOVE LOVE LOVE him.
