Another commute question...Massapequa to Queens

I'm wondering what the (driving) commute is like from Massapequa to Flushing/Whitestone. I have to be at work most days at 7am and some days at 8am.

Then on the way back around 2:30-3:30 pm.

TIA!

I would leave myself at least 45 minutes for that trip, especially with traffic.

I agree. It takes me 30 solid minutes to go from Bayside to Seaford in regular traffic and you have a little extra time on both ends.

ITA with this. I commute from Seaford (next town over) to Garden City which is not even in queens yet, and in traffic it will take me 45 min, 30 without traffic

I do Wantagh to Fresh Meadows and have been averaging an hour lately. It STINKS! But you'd be leaving earlier than I do. I usually leave around 7.

I would say about 45 in the AM and 1+ in the PM (as long as you leave right at 2:30).

Since you are leaving that early, 30 minutes at most. If it rains maybe 45.

I actually do that exact commute. I leave my house generally at 6am and will be in work at 7 (traffic is a B!tch soemtimes) If it rains, I have to leave at 530 to get there by 7. It is definitly a tolerable commute. If you take the LIE service road instead of the LIE, it is so much better. I am so used to the commute now, it doesn't feel so long.

Re: Another commute question...Massapequa to Queens

i work in whitestone/flushing but commute from further out east. if you have to be there by 7, your commute wont be too bad. id say leave at 6:15 the first few days to guage traffic. will you take the meadowbrook to the northern state to cross island? coming home you will hit traffic and it gets exponentially worse the later you leave. same in the morning too..
traffic this fall has been TERRIBLE lately! i think maybe bc of lirr cuts, more people are driving into the city now. good luck!
