Re: defrosting the cake

I heard so many stories of how yucky it was. I'm not looking fwd to it. So we're going to buy a new top layer before we begin to defrost lol

PSA: Your hall may give you a comp anny cake if you ask them! DH & I went back to have lunch at our hall and they wound up giving us free champagne and a pretty large red velvet cake like we had on our wedding day Chat Icon

Re: defrosting the cake

Mine was amazing on our 1 yr! It tasted EXACTLY the same as it did the day of the wedding.

My mom wrapped it for us....I took it out of the freezer 1 day before we ate it.

Re: defrosting the cake

We had it sitting in FIL/MIL house since they put it in their freezer and Russo's had boxed it up really pretty too!

They put it in the fridge 48 hours before they knew we'd be there and then let it get to room temperature the day we were going to eat it...honestly it tasted as good as our wedding day!
