Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
I met the Gin Blossoms back in the 90's at the MTV Beach house in the Hamptons...they were really cool and just hanging out with us extras before their interview.
I was shopping in a jewelry store in Southampton and so was Brendan Fraser...i didn't talk to him but followed him down Main St until a lady from the store called him back in.
I was picking up my wedding band in the diamond district when Dee Snider came to my jeweler's booth to browse (didn't realize who it was at first). I was showing him my e-ring and saying what beautiful stuff my jeweler made when i looked at him and was like "wait...you are Dee.." and he laughed...then the chick he was with dragged him away.
I've seen the Real Housewives of NY while working in Bridgehampton and saw Kelly Rippa and her hubby while working the Hampton Classis but never talked to any of them.

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
It must be 20 years ago now, but I received an invitation to the Emmys. Clearly a mistake, but it was mailed to me with my name on it! I didn't know what to do, I mean should I go, or what? I wound up sending my GF and her friend. They were seated at a table next to Angela Lansbury, had a greeat dinner and a wonderful time!
I don't know if anyone knows or remembers George Thorogood and the Destroyers. A friend of mine knew George (before he was famous) convinced him to bring his band West to California. I set up a fundraising benefit in a local bar and they blew the socks off the place! It was insane. They continued down the coast and became pretty big (jonny carson, etc.)for a while.
That's all i've got.

Quite a few, but LL Cool J sticks out the most, as well as Steve Perry, from Journey. Both so nice!

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
Never said anything to him but I was a hostess at a restaurant in the city (just got on my shift he was already there) and Robert Deniro came in for lunch with his girlfriend, I had to go sneak a peak, everyone said he was always nice very quiet and kept to himself.
I said hi to Matt Dillon in the same restaurant and Keanu Reeves was supposidly a regular cause he lived right next door. I only worked there for a summer so I never got to meet him cause he was away shooting a movie for the summer.
He's not a celebrity but I hung out with Kwami from the apprentice b/c my former roomate worked for MTV and so did Kwami b4 the show so we got to go to all these Apprentice parties that season that MTV through

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
I've met a lot because I used to be an event coordinator - so well known politicians, CEOs of major corporations, sports figures & celebrities.
Knowing someone & meeting them are different things so while there are a few standout stories - ones that hit on me, ones that were jerks, ones that were really nice, etc - I don't think it's really how they are unless I've met them several times. So for the ones I've met many times...
I think Steinbrenner - while an azzhole in the media - was a really wonderful & caring guy, a good friend to his friends in times of trouble, and just an overall sweetheart.
Donald Trump is a jerk through & through. I credit his wife for raising some wonderful kids - and I credit him for creating the one that I think is a tool.
When I was in HS, I used to babysit for Clark Gilles' family. He & his wife are really nice. Really adored their girls.

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
I didn't go up to them but I once was seated next to Jerry Seinfeld and Colin Quinn and their respective dates at a restaurant in Montauk. They seemed annoyed anytime anyone approached them so I didn't go up to them. I don't think they were being a$$es or anything, I think anyone would get annoyed if they kept getting interrupted by strangers when trying to have a nice dinner out with friends.

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
I met David Hasselhoff at the Atlantis hotel when I was 16. I was eating dinner with my family next to him and his family. He took a picture with me and my mom after dinner. He was very nice about it.
I met Jonathan Jackson from GH at the after party for the movie Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. He was in the movie and I had won a trip to LA for the premiere and the after party.
No one else that I can think of. I am not the type to recognize many celebs out of context.

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
I met **** Clark, Henry Winkler, Joan Rivers, the band Eves 6, and John Ritter. Those were the big ones anyway that I remember at the moment. Joan Rivers had a ton of energy! The guys from Eves 6 were funny. **** Clark had a posse of much younger women with him, and John Ritter was a complete sweetheart and had gorgeous piercing blue eyes. I was really sad when he passed...:o(
Edited to add because I forgot Cesar Milan. He was super nice!

Re: Celebs, have you met any in person?
Tori Amos-sweet as can be
Roger Waters-weird, but nice. I was at a small show for a group his son was in and he was a table away. He took a pic with us. He was nice about it.
Bethenny Frankel-so sweet and nice! Plus, she told me DD was gorgeous, which always gets someone on my good side
I saw Kevin James once in a local coffee shop eating breakfast. Didn't say anything as that is not me.
DH and I lived/worked in the Hamptons and I know he saw quite a few celebs.

I almost forgot, a few years ago I was in a fancy drugstore in the village I work in, and I met Morrissey.
I spent a few minutes talking to him about how he was one of the biggest influences on my life, and he was really really lovely! He laughed when I told him that when I was about 15 I felt like he was speaking directly to me, but our backgrounds were so different, and also, how now, I live about two streets away from his childhood home.
And, he spent over £1000 on mens hair products and scented candles.
Awesome! I met Mike Joyce from the Smiths once, he was nice, but I think he got annoyed because I kept asking him to tell me what Morrissey was like.
I have also met Eugenius (if anyone knows them!), Eugene was really sweet. I was on a plane with Forrest Whitaker. My brother is friends with Graham Coxon from Blur and said he's awesome. Oh, I met and hung out a bar with Mike McGlone, he played Ed Burns' brother in Brothers McMullen and is on the Gieco commercial now. He bought us a pitcher of beer, but he was kind of a douche.
My cousin lives on the same block as Christy Turlington and Ed Burns. She said they are really nice. Oh, and Ice-T was in her apartment filming an episode of SVU.
Oh, wanted to add, I met the singer of the Catherine Wheel (again, if anyone knows them) - he was such a jerk.
