Suggestion!!! I am at wits end???
DD is almost five months old and still waking usually every 2 hrs in the night to feed..During the day when I go to work she goes 3-4 hrs on a bottle (breast milk)and drinks 6 oz.. When I'm home it is a struggle to go 3 hrs. She is EBF. I just cant take it anymore. She did not take a bottle until she was 3 months old and that was a fight. Well now Im trying to introduce formula to her and she refuses, she gags and spits it out of her mouth.. I don't know what to do.. any suggestions.TIA

She's probably nursing out of comfort and she prob misses you! Does she take a paci at all? I would probably just continue nursing on demand - she should grow out of it soon, and be able to go longer between feedings. Sorry, I know you're working and that's prob not what you want to do.

Maybe she is reverse cycling when you are gone? I read about this on kellymom.com (a great resource for BFing). Have you tried having someone else give her the formula instead of you? That may be an easier transition for her. Maybe call a lactation consultant?

Re: Suggestion!!! I am at wits end???
Have you tried having DH go in there and give her the paci and just rub her back when she wakes up and try to get her back to sleep that way? If you go in, she may expect to be nursed. I would think at 5 months she should be able to go longer than 3 hour stretches at night without eating so it's probably more of a comfort thing than a hunger thing. I'm sorry I don't have any more suggestions for you. My DS went through 4 month regression and now at 6 1/2 months still also wakes up at least once a night to nurse when he used to sleep 12 hours straight. What I found a little helpful was a sound machine. He went from waking up 3-4 times a night to only once or twice. Good luck
