Help with taking away 2 yo DC's paci
Today is the first day of paci weaning and it is going HORRIBLE.
We started last night by putting a hole in the paci and she said it was broken. I told her I couldn't fix it. She has been crying non stop. Jumping out of her bed and won't go back in. She tells me she is scared. Last night was such a bad night to do this because of the thunder and lightening. So I am sure that was why she was scared. She has not asked for the paci once in all of this.
Now she is having a hard time with napping. She needs it desperately and just won't lie down to give herself a chance to fall asleep. So, for those of you who have done this..How long does this last! And any advice! Thanks!

Re: Help with taking away 2 yo DC's paci
we took DS away when he was exactly two. Honestly, it wasnt easy, and got harder before it got easier bc he missed it more as the days went on. My only advice would be give him lots of hugs, lay with him for a little while if you have too. We also got DS a "special friend" (its a little stuffed monkey) to help him and he had is lovey. Just hang in there, I swear in like a week or two, itll be over and youll be paci free, just have to be tough through the hard part!!!!

Re: Help with taking away 2 yo DC's paci
does she have anything else that can soothe her? a blankie? stuffed animal, etc?
I KNOW how hard it is.. I'm trying to get rid of DD's paci too and it's rough.

I'd like advice too, but add in that DS grabs a suck of DD's paci whenever he sees it. He's a paci addict looking for his next fix.
