Anyone hiring IT staff?
DH has been out of work since being laid off in July. He really got screwed. He worked at a rather large company in the IT dept. with amazing 100% paid benefits for both of us and a great salary. They hired a new CIO who got rid of the entire dept. to outsource to another company to save money. Luckily, they "transferred" him over to the company that they outsourced to so he could work exclusively with the company's account since he knew their network. While he still had a job, the transfer came with a bit of a pay cut and he would have to start contributing towards insurance. Several months after that, his old company decided that they wanted to outsource elsewhere and canceled their contract. End result - DH is laid off because the new company no longer had the business to keep him.
He has been on countless interviews since. Some companies he has gone on 3 or 4 interviews but they always seem to go with the other person. He's miserable staying home and it seems as if he's applied to every IT job he can find online. So if anyone out there in LIF careerland knows of any IT openings that he can apply for, I'd be very appreciative.
He does networking, servers, and deals with hardware. No software or programming.

just saw a spot that may be a fit at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson.

Just saw a couple of listings on LinkedIn. Assuming he already has an account (if not it's free - he should create a profile) - just tell him to join the GROUP... "LONG ISLAND IT WORKERS" and click on "jobs". There are a number of positions posted that may be a fit.
