shedding
My IL's have a flat coated retriever mix with long black hair that is constantly shedding.
Whenever they go away we puppysit (usually about once a month, sometimes more). I spend days trying to get rid of her hair. She was just here for 3 days- I washed the sheets, lint rolled them and there's still hair. Our white kitchen floor is covered and no matter how much I vacuum and sweep, there's more!
I love puppysitting for her, but the hair is just an annoyance. If she were our dog that'd be another story- you expect hair in a dog owner's house.
Any suggestions on how I can keep my apartment clean when she comes to visit?

Re: shedding
Not much you can do. I find hair in the darnedest of places. Have you checked your shoes and your lint trap yet?

Re: shedding
By the way, many dogs start shedding in spring and fall, so this is a bad time. We use the Furminator as an undercoat rake once a month, and a Zoom Groom almost daily during the worst of it. You should see if they can brush the dog before it comes over. But you'll always find hair.

We do too! I brush her at least every other day as well. I use the furminator deshedding shampoo and the furminator. I constantly wash my bed sheets (she sleeps with us--all 50 lbs of her---we have a black lab /hound mix). I find her hair everywhere even though I am constantly cleaning. I found hair on my laptop keyboard, the toilet seat top, my shoes, my work bag, my toothbrush...OMG! but I love her so much!!!!

Did you see my post about the brush made by Dyson... That has to be one of the best I've seen so far that attaches to your Vac...

Definitely agree. This time of year is the worst. My dogs are shedding like crazy. We sweep, vacuum, and mop EVERY DAY. And I still come home to clumps of fur. Then again, I just HAD to have the collie mix.
