foundation sponges
No matter what kind I buy, the foundation gets soaked in the sponge and hardly any get on my face. Is there a kind that anyone would recommend? I just switched to a new one today and no matter how much I put on the sponge, hardly any seems to get on my face...

Re: foundation sponges
I use essence of beauty, probably got them from CVS.
I put my foundation on my hand first then dab the sponge into the makeup and I get perfect coverage

Re: foundation sponges
I use my fingers for normal everyday application, and apply it with a brush if I'm going somewhere fancier and want to take the time to get it looking extra good. I never use sponges - you waste so much that way!

Re: foundation sponges
use a stippling brush instead. I don't think those sponges work either...

Gee... thanks for the responses. I guess I have been doing this the difficult way for a long time.

Re: foundation sponges
A sales person at clinique did a demonstration for me with a sponge, fingers, and a brush. She "applied" the foundation to a mirror with each thing and it was so clear that a brush is the way to go! I will never use a sponge again...its a waste of foundation! I now use a brush. It goes on the most evenly!

Re: foundation sponges
I used a sponge ever since I started using liquid foundation a few years ago- Then one day I didn't have a clean one so I used my hands and I find it's WAY better! It's more sanitary too!

Re: foundation sponges
i use a brush to apply, then blend with my fingers, and smooth out any weird areas or remove extra with a sponge.

Re: foundation sponges
Thanks so much for the posts. I used my fingers yesterday, and geez...what a huge difference. Way better than the sponges.

Re: foundation sponges
I use the Sonia Kashuk foundation brush (at Target). I have the small one and it works great at applying and blending.

Re: foundation sponges
I have always used a foundation brush, most counters sell their own brand.
I haven't used a sponge in over 12 years Its a waste of foundation
