pediatrician advice
I need to change pediatricians due to health insurance coverage changes, which sucks. Any advise or comments on CPEC Pediatric Gropup or Winthrop Pediatric Associates. My choices are limited under our new insurance policy. I am not a happy camper right now.

CPEC is great...all the Ped's are fantastic. I would also recommend Dr. Rubin - Mineola, happy and healthy ped's. She is the best!! Some other good ones in the area are Dr. Cadet - westbury.
Dr. Lanzilotta - bellmore
Dr. Jassey - Bellmore
Dr. Ashourzadeh - Levittown

Thanks. I am just very limited with the amount of doctors covered by our health insurance plan. There are only a handful, so I thought I would find out which one was best and get advice from other parents who treat with these doctors. I wish I did not have to change pediatricians, but we just cannot afford to pay out of pocket for our daughter's treatment.

Solo practice. Never had a hard time getting a same day appointment. ALways seen within 15 minutes. HE calls me back with any questions I may have. I can't say enough good things about him.
ETA: Sorry, I thought you wrote in the Mineola area. I was reading the next post down. Not sure what town you are looking in

you can try Dr. Jeffrey Silverstein in Merrick. I think he takes a bunch of different types of insurance.

That is who we go to now, they accept our insurance but not the plan that we have. I am devistated.

They just recently changed them, so I am not 100% sure. They used to only be open later one day a week, but now I think they are open later 3 days a week and I think they open at 10am on those days. They are there on Saturday mornings for sick visits.

MB, you crack me up! You could have just emailed me directly instead of responding through here. How funny though. But I am pretty sure you doctor is in Manhasset or New Hyde Park and that is too far for us to travel. Unless the doctor is in Garden City or Mineola.

I don't know if she accepts your insurance but I also use Dr. Elissa Rubin in Mineola and LOVE her. I have friends that use Dr. Jassey in Bellmore and they always say the best things about him.
