last time we heard the night before, this time i'm not sure. i run afterschool programs so basically if schools are running i have to be here to receive kids off the bus, so we'll see

they dont tell us until we are already out trying to dig the car outta the snow.

Its only 3 of us in the office and it looks we are oopen tomorrow. I doubt I can get there though.

We have to call the snow hotline. Usually they tell us very late the night before.

The last storm, they told us at about 8PM

we also have an 800 number to call.. but they don't usually make the decision until that morning. During the blizzard they made the decision to close at 8:45 am. Not sure how helpful that is when you have to be in at 8am.

They will probably make the decision the morning of! Last time they texted us at 8:30 that the office was closed... we had to be at work by 9... it was so nice of him to let us know in advance

We get a text alert usually by 6am to let us know if the school is closed. I take a 5:40am train usually so I just wait until I hear and then head into work late if the school is open.

We never close. We are a 24/7 shop.

I will work remotely tomorrow. Already determined.

The morning of, normally around 5am.

We are a VERY small company (5 ppl) and we get a text in the AM. Last snow storm I had already text my boss to say I wasnt driving in and then about 1 hr later the text got sent out.

I actually told MY boss Iw ont be in.

I travel on the LIRR and they all know it is a mess in bad snow.

Plus its gonna be closed ANYWAY!!!

We just put a request into the "higher ups" to come up with some sort of weather plan. The last blizzard it was like a game of tag text to try and get any information. So far there is no plan in effect, but I don't even attempt the roads if there is more than 6 inches of snow.

We have a number that we have to call. Supposedly the decision will be made by 7am. Last week, the recording was changed at 8:30am to say we had to stay tuned for the official decision. They changed the recording again at 11:30am to say we all needed to come in. So basically we all had to call all morning to see what their decision was going to be....only to have only half the staff come in.

Usually the morning of, around 6am.

But they actually just announced we will be closed tomorrow!

Thank goodness I'm set up to work from home now so at least I can do that and not have to take a personal day.

we have a phone number to call in but if it is snowing I'm not coming in that my policy!! LOL

We have to call in. I *think* starting at 6AM. If we are closed the message says the date and then that we are closed. If we are open the message is the standard "the office is now closed" greeting.

I work in a preschool that follows whatever the NYCDOE does, so I'll get up at 5 am to see what Bloomberg announces.

DH's company never closes for snow, but thankfully he can work from home if needed. He'll probably end up doing that tomorrow since I doubt the LIRR will be running.

honestly its different every time. sometimes we have to wait and see what the main company is doing...

we never close we have to use personal time if we don't come in and now its busy season so its even worse cause we HAVE to work somehow. ugh

My boss is out this week b/c he had a death in the family. It is now up to me to make the decision for tomorrow and I'm torn on what to do. I told the receptionist I would call her in the a.m. and let her know. I don't think my boss would be mad if we didn't come in, but I feel pressure to make a good decision in his absence.
