How long did you take off of work?

after your m/c? I took 2 sick days last week and one today bc I found out that this is definitely not a viable pregnancy so I'm a bit of a mess. I don't know if I will or will not miscarry on my own but I'm scared to leave the house in fear that I'll miscarry away from home. Is this even normal? I know I have to get on with it but I don't know how.

Re: How long did you take off of work?

I'm so sorry for your loss. My loss was considered a chemical loss so I only took one day off of work to mentally recoup. Hang in there! This board is AMAZING support if you feel like sharing/venting, whatever you need to do!

Edited to ask: How far along were you? I ask, not to be nosy, but b/c I was only 5 weeks, so when I had my loss it was really no worse than a heavy period.

I'm 5 weeks too, well technically 6 but growth stopped at 5. Did you miscarry on your own or did you have to do a D&C? My dr just asked me about this and I'm not sure what to do.

i was 9 weeks and had a d&c

i don't work but my husband took off from wed to the following monday to stay with me

it was horrible. we both needed that time. we went from hearing and seeing a heartbeat one week and then a few weeks later finding out the baby was already gone.

i think if i was working i would have taken a week at least. i would have used my sick days.

I miscarried on my own before I even had my first doc appointment. I'm so sorry this is happening. I did not need a D&C. By the time I got to the ER my ueterus was completely empty already, no sign of a pregnancy and my beta was already down to 15.

thank you ladies. This was helpful. My dr suggested waiting a week and scheduling a D&C if I don't miscarry on my own.

I had to MC on a monday OF COURSE!!!Chat Icon
I took off tues/wed with every intention that if I wasnt emotionally prepared I could leave work thurs/fri early. Just getting back into the swing of things helped me so much. I wish there were some type of bereavement leave for this. Bleeding at work due to a MC really sucked badly!!!Chat Icon

Thank you all! I want to cry all over again reading your responses because it's such a relief to be able to speak to other people that have went through the same thing.

I started miscarrying naturally at 7 weeks at work. Total disaster. I went to the bathroom and just started freaking out. It was confirmed a MC that day with a sono and I didn't go back to work until the following monday.

I started to bleed at work, and called my dr who wanted me to come in, so I left work and went there. Then I came home, and I'm not going in tomorrow.

I lost my baby at 25 weeks this week and am still waiting to have a D&E. My doctor asked me how many days I think I needed off and I told her about three weeks. I think you have to be prepared both mentally and physically.

I took one day when I had the D&C for my first m/c. But, I should have taken a few more. I didn't want work to know so I panicked and went in.

For my natural m/c this time I technicall took no time, but was able to work two afternoons from home. Again, I should have taken more but pushed through.

thank you. I'm thinking of scheduling a D&C bc I think I'm literally driving myself mad about when the m/c will start. I convince myself multiple times throughout the day that my m/c started and in reality it hasn't. Was the D&C really that bad? I don't like needles, doctors or surgery.
