Nausea/Vomiting Question
Hi Ladies.. I'm curious, I know nausea is very common in the first trimester, but how many of you actually have/had vomiting along with it? And, if you did, how often, how many times a day did it happen, and were you able to keep anything down?
I am about 8wks, nausea started about a week and ahalf ago, which isn't pleasant, but I can handle. Today I have vomited three times and even sips of water are not staying down. I'm worried that if this continues I'm going to have to head to the ER for some iv hydration...
any input would be greatly appreciated

Re: Nausea/Vomiting Question
I wish I had an answer for you, but every one can have different experiences.
My first i was just nauseous - threw up 2x
My second i threw up every day sometimes 2-3 times a day (never had to get an IV)
Now - I'm about 8 weeks too and the nausea is awful and I threw up 2 times yesterday but nothing today.

Re: Nausea/Vomiting Question
I was nauseous around 8 weeks but didn't start actually throwing up until I was 9 1/2 weeks. Then I threw up every single morning until I was 14 weeks when it was like someone flipped a switch. Most days, I'd just throw up first thing in the morning when I woke up, but some days I'd throw up right after eating as well. One day I remember throwing up 5 x in one day.
I found that super sweet drinks like cream soda stayed down better than water so I would drink whatever fluids would work. I had a lot of juice (I'd put half juice, half water in the glass).
Hang in there, but if it gets really bad, talk to your doctor about it because there is a prescription they can give you to help, which would be better than having to go get an IV! Hope you feel better soon!!

Re: Nausea/Vomiting Question
It was random at first, now it's part of my morning routine. It was consistent from 8 weeks on ( I'm 15 weeks).

Re: Nausea/Vomiting Question
i had nausea & it was kinda bad but i never threw up. I just made sure to eat non greasy no fatty foods. I ate dry stuff. Saltines toast. I drank ginger ale & chicken broth. HTH Ginger helps with nausea.

Re: Nausea/Vomiting Question
With DD I was constantly nauseous but never threw up. I could handle it and would go away just by eating a little something. With this pregnancy I was getting physically sick from 5w-13w. I was throwing up multiple times a day. I could barely function. I never got to the point of dehydration though
Just try to drink as much as possible in between. Its NOT going to feel good but you need what you can get
