My genetic testing came back....a month later...and apparently I am a FRAGILE X Carrier. I meet with the RE Thursday. Any thoughts? Opinions? Experiences?

Re: Fragile X Carrier?
I found out right before I was about to do my IVF cycle that I was also a carrier...I was heartbroken and completley freaking out...did they give you the number of repeats you scored?
When I got my results we met with a genetic counselor who assured us everything would be ok based on how low our number was. They always have to tell you that you are a carrier if its over a certain #. They told me I was a carrier and wouldnt give me my results until I met with a counselor, but like it said it turned out I was considered in the "gray zone" and everything is fine...dont read the internet, it will just freak you out!

Re: Fragile X Carrier?
I am a fragile x carrier, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. It is all based on repeat number. But everyone is different, just keep that in mind.
here is a great website http://www.fragilex.org/html/home.shtml
I did a ton of research when I found out. I went through PGD/IVF and I have a healthy baby girl and she is almost 18 months old!!!

Re: Fragile X Carrier?
Thank you Ladies! I am above the gray zone so I am meeting with my genetic counselor. With PCOS and low sperm mobility IVF might be the way to go with genetic testing before implantation.
