I scheduled my D&C
for this Friday. I couldn't take the waiting to m/c on my own and not knowing when it was going to happen. I am terrified, I hate hospitals and don't do well with surgery. I was really hoping this would happen naturally

I'm really hoping this is true but it's been almost 3 weeks since my first sonogram and nothing changed since. I don't know why it hasn't happened already

I am so sorry. I have my D&C tomorrow and am the same as you wtih hospitals. Feel free to FM if you have any questions. This is just one of those things that will make us stronger.

Whether or not the right choice, the Dr gave me cyotec to open the cervix and it expedited the whole thing. Thankfully it DID happen and right away. In hindsight it might have not happened from what Ive read which would have meant i would have had to have the D&C anyway. Did your dr mention this? Like I said it did work for me.

I am sorry for your loss. I know it is hard but try no to worry too much about the surgery. I never had any type of procedure done before my D & C and I was terrified and trembling with fear in the waiting room. I know it is scary believe me, but it is quick and the pain after is very very minimal. (I went to work the next day and way fine.)

Why would she tell you that? Cyotec is supposed to cause a ntural miscarriage. Why would you take cyotec only to have a D&C 3 hrs later?

Hmmm....I wonder if that is how all D&C's are. Once I had the cyotec within 2 hrs the whole miscarriage was over without a D&C.
I dont know either way it all stinks. Hope everything goes fast and you feel well quickly!!!

I think I read that they sometimes give drugs before a d&c to help dilate the cervix so it is less manual dilation the doctor has to do. Dilation is part of the procedure and maybe it makes it easier if the cervix dilates on its own a bit? I think I remember reading something like that. I think the reason they like to do a d&c (besides $$$) is to make sure all of the products of conception are completly removed after a missed miscarriage.
I wish you the best of luck I 100% know how you feel. I felt a little better after my surgery because I knew I could start to move on. I am so sorry

I'm sorry for your loss I had my D&C 2 weeks ago and was beyond scared. From my experience it was quick and pretty much painless. And mentally it was the best choice because we were able to start to put everything behind us and start thinking about the future. Having any type of procedure done is scary, you'll be ok and know that you are not alone
