Re: Looking for a Vampire Series to read

The Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. The first book in the series is Guilty Pleasures. There's 19 books in the series and they're easy reads. After about the second book I was hooked. The books are very detailed and involve vampires, zombies and s e x(very detailed, I just finished # 19 and the last 2 chapters were all about s e x )
Happy reading.

I am reading the My Blood Approves series by Amanda Hocking at AngShaun's recommendation and I am loving it! It's Young Adult but still really a good, quick read. I'm on the 3rd book already.

go for one of the originals

Anne Rice -
Interview with a Vampire
The Vampire Lestat
The Queen of the Damned

I read those in high school and they got me hooked on all things vampire long before Twilight or True Blood were ever thought of

Yup! My mother credits (blames? Chat Icon) Interview With a Vampire as the book that started my obsession. There are 9 books in The Vampire Chronicles....hmmm, maybe I'm going to go back and read them myself, I've only read a few of them.

I LOVED the first 3.. but felt that after that they started to get a bit far fetched. But i actually felt that way about a lot of Anne Rice's stuff. Her earlier writing is soo good, then she got super religious and her writing changed and imo it just wasn't as good.
I may go back and read them now as well!
